Key responsibilities: Operate conventional lathe machines. Perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, boring and related machining operations. Read mechanical drawings and understand dimensions/tolerances.
Use vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge and other measuring instruments. Perform fitting, assembly, dismantling and alignment of mechanical components. Carry out basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Handle pumps, valves, gearboxes and other mechanical equipment where required. Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Follow production, quality and workplace safety procedures.
