Role & responsibilities

Acts as in-charge of all technical operations of the laboratory, ensuring that analyses and calibrations are performed according to national and international standards.

- Optimizes operational efficiency to ensure timely delivery of analytical test

reports.
- Responsible for the development and validation of current analytical methods, as

required.
- Reviews and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs) in consultation with

management. Ensures day-to-day analyses are performed accurately, including checking analytical test results, preparing test reports, and timely submission.
- Maintains and implements quality system procedures in the laboratory.
- Maintains comprehensive quality records.
- Controls non-conforming activities, identifies use of non-standard methods,

evaluates the significance of non-conforming work, and takes corrective actions.
- Notifies clients and initiates work recalls if non-conforming tests are identified.
- Implements preventive actions to avoid future occurrences.
- Ensures regular analysis of QC check samples across all laboratory sections.





Allocates responsibilities and monitors performance for timely completion of tasks.
- In the absence of the Deputy Technical Manager, the Senior Chemist assumes responsibility; in critical cases, the Laboratory Manager will take over.
- Responds to client technical queries and provides clarifications.
- Coordinates with site personnel for preparation of onsite reagents, equipment delivery, and monitoring kits.
- Ensures performance of instruments and equipment before use and reports any need for SOP or procedural updates to the Laboratory Manager.
- Conducts calibration of instruments, equipment, and glassware according to standard methods.
- Monitors and ensures proper functioning of laboratory instruments.
- Prepares monthly requirements of chemicals and consumables, including technical specifications.
- Holds authority to halt work and withhold test results in case of non-conformance.
- Authorizes resumption of work after resolving non-conformance.
- Authorized to sign analytical reports.
- Analyzes results, including statements of conformity, opinions, and interpretations.
