Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven Team Lead – Counselling to lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of admission, academic, or career counsellors.
This role combines people leadership with hands-on counselling and B2C sales expertise. You will drive student conversions, improve team performance, ensure a high-quality learner experience, and consistently achieve admission and revenue targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of admission or career counsellors.
- Set and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs, including call volumes, counselling sessions, follow-ups, conversions, and revenue.
- Conduct daily team huddles, regular one-on-one meetings, and structured performance reviews.
- Provide live coaching through call and video-session monitoring, objection-handling workshops, and closing-technique training.
- Identify performance gaps and implement focused improvement plans and upskilling initiatives.
- Motivate the team to achieve individual and collective targets while maintaining a positive, accountable culture.
Counselling & Sales Oversight
- Oversee B2C counselling through phone calls, video sessions, and face-to-face interactions.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex, high-value, or sensitive learner cases.
- Support counsellors in handling objections, closing difficult opportunities, and guiding learners toward suitable programmes.
- Ensure accurate communication of course recommendations, programme details, fee structures, payment options,
and onboarding requirements.
- Drive disciplined pipeline management, lead movement, and timely follow-ups across the team.
- Ensure CRM data accuracy, appropriate lead tagging, and complete daily activity records.
- Monitor productivity metrics and conversion funnels to identify bottlenecks and improve output.
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports to senior management.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Training, and Student Success teams to improve lead flow and student onboarding.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in B2C sales, inside sales, admissions, academic counselling, or career counselling.
- At least 1–2 years of proven experience handling or leading a counselling or sales team.
- Strong record of meeting or exceeding revenue, admission, and conversion targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong working knowledge of CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or LeadSquared, along with Excel and performance reporting.
- Ability to analyse data, manage sales funnels, and translate insights into performance improvements.
- High emotional intelligence, solid ownership, and a genuine passion for coaching and developing team members.
