Job Summary
We are looking for a TCM Validation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, CAPL scripting, CAN/CAN FD, UDS diagnostics, and automotive ECU validation.
The candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, and automating validation scenarios for automotive ECUs, with a primary focus on TCM validation, vehicle network communication, diagnostics, and software stability.
The role involves working with CANoe-based simulation and test environments, Restbus Simulation, HIL/component-level test benches, and automated regression testing to ensure ECU functionality and software quality before production release.
Key Responsibilities1. Test Environment & Simulation
- Configure and maintain automotive network simulation environments using Vector CANoe.
- Develop and maintain Restbus Simulation environments for simulating missing/unavailable ECUs.
- Configure CANoe databases, nodes, messages, signals, panels, and diagnostic environments.
- Support ECU/component-level validation test benches.
- Troubleshoot test environment and network communication issues.
1. Test Case Development & Automation
- Analyze system/software requirements and develop functional, integration, regression, and validation test cases.
- Develop automated test cases using CAPL.
- Use Python for test automation and supporting validation frameworks where applicable.
- Develop and maintain CANoe test modules/test blocks.
- Execute automated regression testing and analyze test results.
- Maintain test scripts and automation assets throughout software releases.
1. Automotive Network & Protocol Validation
- Monitor, capture, and analyze vehicle network traffic using CANoe and CANalyzer.
- Analyze CAN messages, signals, timing, communication behavior, and network errors.
- Perform validation of CAN and CAN FD communication.
- Exposure to LIN and Automotive Ethernet is an advantage.
- Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis using CANoe trace and log data.
1. Diagnostics Validation
- Validate ECU diagnostic functionality using UDS / ISO 14229.
- Test diagnostic services,
fault handling, and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform diagnostic testing using CANoe Diagnostic Console.
- Validate ECU flashing/programming functionality where applicable.
- Analyze diagnostic communication and identify failures.
1. HIL & Component-Level Testing
- Execute validation test plans using HIL and component-level test benches.
- Work with testing environments such as dSPACE and ETAS.
- Analyze HIL test failures and identify communication, configuration, or software-related issues.
- Support integration and regression testing of ECU software.
1. Defect Tracking & Reporting
- Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Capture CANoe traces, logs, screenshots, and test evidence for failed scenarios.
- Support root-cause analysis and defect resolution.
- Perform defect retesting and regression testing.
- Prepare validation reports and communicate test status to development and systems teams.
Required Skills – Must Have
- 3–5 years of experience in Automotive ECU/Embedded Software Validation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Vector CANoe.
- Good working experience with CANalyzer.
- Strong knowledge of CAPL scripting.
- Hands-on experience with CAN / CAN FD.
- Experience in TCM or automotive ECU validation.
- Good understanding of UDS / ISO 14229 diagnostics.
- Experience in automotive network analysis and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Restbus Simulation.
- Experience in functional, integration, regression, and validation testing.
- Good understanding of automotive ECU communication and software validation processes.
Good to Have
- Python-based test automation.
- Experience with LIN / Automotive Ethernet.
- Knowledge of DoIP / OBD.
- Experience with vTESTstudio.
- Exposure to Vector VT System.
- Experience with dSPACE / ETAS HIL environments.
- ECU flashing/programming experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 / Functional Safety.
- Experience with automated regression frameworks.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on Automotive Validation Engineer with practical experience in CANoe, CAPL, CAN/CAN FD, ECU validation, and UDS diagnostics.
The candidate should be comfortable working with automotive testing environments, analyzing network traces and diagnostic data, developing automated validation scenarios, and collaborating with development and system teams to identify and resolve ECU/software issues.
TCM experience will be preferred.
