Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients as per hospital protocols and prescribed treatment plans.

- Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, clinical condition, and response to treatment.

- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed by the physician.

- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, including patient charts, medication records, intake/output, and nursing notes.

- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, dressings, minor procedures, and emergency interventions.

- Monitor patients before and after procedures and immediately report any deterioration or abnormal findings.

- Maintain proper infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and use of PPE.

- Ensure proper care and handling of medical equipment and nursing supplies.

- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the assigned ward/unit.

- Identify and promptly escalate medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.

- Provide patient and attendant education regarding medication, diet, hygiene, treatment, and discharge instructions.

- Assist in admission, transfer,



and discharge procedures.

- Ensure proper identification of patients before medication administration and procedures.

- Follow medication safety principles and hospital policies.

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.

- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing staff, technicians, pharmacy, laboratory, housekeeping, and other departments.

- Participate in emergency duties, clinical rounds, and shift handovers.

- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables, and nursing supplies in the assigned area.

- Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, statutory requirements, and accreditation-related procedures.

- Participate in training, continuing nursing education, drills, and quality-improvement activities.

- Report incidents, medication errors, patient safety concerns, and other clinical issues through the prescribed reporting mechanism.

- Perform any other nursing-related duties assigned by the Nursing In-charge / Nursing Superintendent.
