We are seeking a proactive Mid-Level Finance Executive to independently manage day-to-day accounting, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and reporting while supporting the Finance Controller in business finance and audits.

This role moves beyond transaction entry—it requires operational ownership across the complete finance cycle (Transaction, Reconciliation, Compliance, Reporting , Analysis) with an eye toward evolving into a Finance Manager / Assistant Controller role.

3. Key ResponsibilitiesA. General Accounting & Closing

- Manage end-to-end accounting in Zoho Books (P.O.s, invoices, journal entries, advances, and bank transactions) with accurate cost-center/project tagging.
- Maintain schedules for advances, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, payables, and receivables.
- Drive month-end and year-end closing activities in a timely manner.

B. Statutory & Tax Compliance (GST / TDS)

- Prepare data and working files for GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C) and execute reconciliations (Books vs. GST returns vs. Vendor ITC).
- Ensure correct applicability of HSN/SAC codes, tax rates, TDS deductions, and related filings.
- Assist in addressing tax notices, departmental queries, and liaising with external tax consultants.

C. Working Capital & Treasury Management

- AP: Verify vendor bills against P.O.s and approvals; conduct regular ledger reconciliations; process payments within timelines.
- AR: Issue customer invoices based on commercial terms; track collections, payment gateway settlements, and unadjusted advances.
- Banking: Conduct periodic bank and payment gateway reconciliations (including fees, taxes, and unidentified receipts).

D. MIS, Grant & Project Accounting

- Track income, expenses, and budget-vs-actual performance for CSR- and grant-funded projects.
- Prepare Fund Utilisation Certificates, grant utilization schedules, and project profitability reports.
- Generate monthly management reports (Receivables/Payables ageing, revenue and expense variances, cash flow analysis).

Audit, Payroll & Internal Controls

- Coordinate statutory and tax audits; prepare audit schedules, ledger extracts, and supporting trails.
- Support monthly payroll accounting, reimbursements, and statutory deductions (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS).
- Enforce internal control policies (approval matrices, maker-checker controls) and leverage tools like Metabase and Excel to automate routine finance tasks.

5. Required Experience & Qualifications

- Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent qualified coursework.
- Experience: 3–6 years of hands-on finance/accounting experience (preferably in fast-growing startups, multi-project environments, or the CSR/NGO/Education sector).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Zoho Books (or modern Cloud ERPs) and Advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
- Sound practical knowledge of Indian GAAP, GST, TDS, and bank/gateway reconciliations.
- Exposure to Metabase, automated payment gateways, or financial BI tools is a plus.
