About the Role:

We are looking for a Deck Detailer with a strong combination of technical knowledge and creative design skills to develop accurate, functional, and visually appealing deck designs. The ideal candidate should understand construction principles, structural requirements, and design software while being able to translate client requirements into detailed drawings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Create detailed deck layouts, 2D/3D drawings, and construction plans using AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar software.
- Develop designs considering dimensions, materials, framing, stairs, railings, load requirements, and structural specifications.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to convert concepts into accurate deck designs.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and clients to understand requirements and implement design revisions.
- Prepare material take-offs, design details, and required documentation.




- Manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, quality, and timelines.

Required Skills:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, or other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of deck construction, framing, materials, dimensions, and structural concepts.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent spatial planning, visualization, and technical drawing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of AISC standards.

- 4+ years of Experience.
- Knowledge of TEKLA.

Ideal Candidate: A detail-oriented designer who combines technical accuracy with creative thinking to deliver practical, safe, and aesthetically appealing deck designs. Experience in steel, wood, or composite deck design, as well as structural detailing, is a robust advantage.
