Role Overview

We are looking for a Software QA III Automation with 3+ years of experience in software testing, test automation, and quality engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software products across functional, regression, integration, and release testing activities.

The role requires strong hands-on testing skills, programming knowledge in Java, and experience with automation tools such as Selenium, SoapUI, or similar frameworks. The candidate will work closely with Developers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality and timely releases.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Strategy

- Create and maintain functional and regression test plans based on product requirements and release scope.
- Define test scope, approach, timelines, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements.
- Participate in solution and requirement discussions and provide quality-related inputs.
- Contribute to estimation and sizing activities for testing and automation work.
- Coordinate test planning and execution across multiple testing phases, including -FFT, SIT, CVT; performance tests, load tests, etc.

Test Design & Execution
- Create, review, and maintain functional and regression test cases.
- Ensure test cases provide 100% coverage of new functionality and relevant acceptance criteria.
- Establish and maintain traceability between user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
- Execute test cases across applicable environments and identify functional, integration, and regression issues.
- Validate fixes and perform appropriate regression testing before closure.
- Identify test gaps and continuously improve test coverage and effectiveness.

Test Automation
- Identify suitable test cases for automation based on risk, repeatability, business criticality, and regression value.
- Develop and maintain automated regression tests using Java and Selenium or equivalent automation frameworks.
- Develop and execute API/service-level automation using SoapUI or similar tools.
- Contribute to improving automation coverage, reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
- Integrate automated tests into the overall regression and release validation process where applicable.





Defect Management & Quality Ownership
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with appropriate evidence and reproduction steps.
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, and the Scrum team to analyze and resolve defects.
- Perform defect retesting and impact-based regression testing.
- Take accountability for the overall quality of assigned product areas across functional and regression testing.
- Identify quality risks, dependencies, and potential release blockers proactively.

Release & Quality Governance
- Provide quality inputs for release milestones and readiness assessments.
- Provide quality-related recommendations for go/no-go decisions for releases and environment promotions, including INT, CVT, and Production.
- Track and communicate test execution status, risks, defects, coverage, and release readiness.
- Prepare and provide product quality metrics and testing reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Highlight unresolved defects, test gaps, environment issues, and quality risks that may impact release timelines.

Agile / Scrum Collaboration
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Scrum
- Backlog Refinement
- Sprint Review
- Retrospectives
- Promote a collaborative and quality-focused environment within the QA/Test team and across the Scrum team.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is considered throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate and timely status updates in Rally on a daily basis.
- Engage early in solution discussions to identify testability, automation, integration, and quality considerations.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, Quality Engineering, or Software Engineering.

- Experience with test management/defect tracking tools such as Rally, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Good understanding of requirements, acceptance criteria, and requirements-to-test-case traceability.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience in API automation using tools such as RestAssured, Postman, or similar.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Experience with Git or other source-control systems.
- Exposure to performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or similar.
- Experience in building or maintaining automation frameworks.
- Understanding of SQL and database validation.
- Exposure to cloud-based applications and distributed systems.
- Experience with test reporting, dashboards, and quality metrics.
- Knowledge of shift-left testing and continuous testing practices.
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing or contemporary Quality Engineering practices is an added advantage.
