Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer with around 5 years of professional software engineering experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails, SQL, production support, debugging, multi-tenant applications, Python scripting, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD.

The role requires someone who can independently troubleshoot live production issues, work across the full stack, and effectively support customer-facing applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scalable applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Work extensively with Rails, ActiveRecord, background jobs, testing, and debugging.
- Provide hands-on production support and troubleshoot live application issues.
- Analyze production incidents and trace problems across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Develop and maintain multi-tenant software systems, ensuring proper tenant data isolation and tenant-scoped queries.
- Identify and resolve issues related to noisy-neighbor scenarios, performance, and data isolation.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for reporting, diagnostics, and production troubleshooting.
- Use Python scripting for automation, data processing, and operational tasks.
- Work with Git/GitHub for source control, collaboration, and code reviews.
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Contribute to both backend and frontend development as required.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable software.
- Investigate and resolve customer-facing issues within defined timelines.




- Contribute to modernization and improvement of existing/legacy systems.

Required Skills
- Around 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails (RoR).
- Strong knowledge of:
- Ruby
- Rails / ActiveRecord
- Background jobs
- Automated testing
- Production debugging
- Experience working with multi-tenant applications.
- Robust understanding of:
- Tenant data isolation
- Tenant-scoped queries
- Noisy-neighbor issues
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries directly against production databases.
- Working knowledge of Python scripting for automation and data-related tasks.
- Practical experience with Git/GitHub.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and deployment workflows.
- Full-stack development experience with Rails backend.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues under time pressure.
- Strong communication skills for customer-facing production support.

Good to Have
- Experience with Elasticsearch or other search/indexing technologies.
- Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Experience in regulated industries such as:
- FinTech
- InsurTech
- HealthTech
- Experience with legacy application modernization.
- Knowledge of application performance optimization and monitoring.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on RoR engineer who can independently develop features as well as diagnose and resolve production problems. Experience with multi-tenant systems, complex SQL, automation, and customer-facing production support will be particularly valuable.
