Applications are invited for the following position(s) under the ICMR-funded research project titled: “Development of an AI-Enabled Wearable Patch for Early Prediction of Stress and Depression Using Sweat Cortisol and Galvanic Skin Response Signals”

1 Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)

2. PROJECT RESEARCH SCIENTIST-I (NON-MEDICAL)

Proposed Role: Research Scientist – Wearable Biosensing, GSR/Cortisol Data Acquisition & AI/ML

Essential Qualification

- First Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, in a relevant subject; OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, with Ph.D.
- For Engineering/IT/Computer Science: First Class Four-Year Graduate Degree may be considered as per applicable ICMR norms.

Desirable Qualification/Experience

- Biomedical Engineering; Electronics & Communication/Electronics Engineering; Instrumentation Engineering; Biotechnology; Biomedical Science; Computer Science/AI/Data Science;Bioinformatics Public Health or related interdisciplinary fields.
- Experience in biomedical signal acquisition/processing, GSR/EDA, wearable sensors, biosensors/electrochemical sensing, cortisol/biomarker research, MATLAB/Python/R, AI/ML, statistical analysis or clinical/biomedical datasets.
- Research publications and experience in ICMR/DST/DBT/CSIR/UGC-funded projects will be desirable.

Major Responsibilities:

- Assist in to development and optimization of the wearable patch and integration of GSR/EDA and cortisol sensing components.
- Conduct sweat sample collection and laboratory sensing experiments and assist in electrochemical/biochemical sensing protocols.
- Acquire/preprocess GSR and biomarker datasets; perform signal processing and feature extraction.
- Assist in to development of preliminary AI/ML models for stress/depression prediction and synchronization of physiological, biomarker and clinical data.
- Maintain SOPs, experimental records, data quality/confidentiality and assist in participant data collection as per approved ethics protocol.
- Assist in reports, manuscripts, presentations and coordination with clinical and technical teams.

3. PROJECT RESEARCH SCIENTIST-II (NON-MEDICAL)

Proposed Role: Research Scientist – AI/ML, Biomedical Signal Processing & Clinical Data Integration Essential Qualification:

- First Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degree, with three years experience OR Ph.D.; OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degree, with Ph.D. and three years experience.
- For Engineering/IT/Computer Science: First Class Four-Year Graduate Degree with three years experience, subject to applicable ICMR norms.

Desirable Qualification/Experience:

- PG/PhD in Electronics/ECE, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science/AI/Data Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics/Biostatistics.
- Experience in AI/ML/deep learning, biomedical signal processing, GSR/EDA, wearable-device and multimodal physiological data, clinical data management, Python/MATLAB/R, TensorFlow/PyTorch/scikit-learn, feature engineering and model validation.
- Experience with PHQ-9,



GAD-7 and/or clinical mental-health datasets, research manuscripts/technical reports and ICMR-funded or multicentric research projects will be advantageous.

Major Responsibilities:

- Lead preprocessing and analysis of GSR/EDA and biomarker datasets.
- Develop AI/ML/deep-learning models for prediction/classification of stress and depression.
- Integrate GSR/EDA, cortisol, demographic, clinical/psychometric and other physiological parameters collected under the approved protocol.
- Develop multimodal data-fusion, feature-engineering and feature-selection models; conduct statistical/correlation analyses.
- Perform cross-validation and evaluate sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, F1-score, ROC-AUC and other appropriate metrics.
- Maintain structured databases, data quality and confidentiality; assist with CRFs, SOPs and data-management procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, presentations and conference material and coordinate technical activities with project staff.

4. PROJECT RESEARCH SCIENTIST-III (NON-MEDICAL)

Proposed Role: Senior Research Scientist – Project Coordination, Clinical Validation, AI/ML & Research Management

Essential Qualification

- First Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degree, with three years experience OR Ph.D.; OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degree, with Ph.D. and three years experience.
- For Engineering/IT/CS, First Class Four-Year Graduate Degree with relevant experience, as applicable.
- Final eligibility shall be as per the sanctioned ICMR manpower category and applicable ICMR guidelines.

Desirable Qualification/Experience:

- Ph.D./advanced qualification in Biomedical Engineering/ECE/Electronics/Computer Science/AI/Data Science/Biotechnology/Biomedical Science.
- Experience in biomedical/clinical research, AI/ML, wearable technology, biosensors, physiological signal processing, project management, multidisciplinary/multicentric research, and scientific writing.
- Experience in ICMR/DST/DBT/CSIR-funded projects and a strong scientific publication record will be desirable.

Major Responsibilities:

- Coordinate overall technical implementation and supervise PRS-I, PRS-II and PTS-III.
- Coordinate engineering, biomedical, laboratory and clinical teams; supervise wearable patch development and cortisol/GSR data acquisition and processing.
- Supervise AI/ML model development and validation and coordinate clinical validation with the clinical team.
- Ensure implementation of the approved clinical research protocol, participant recruitment/data collection and quality of clinical, physiological and biomarker data.
- Coordinate data management/analysis, monitor milestones and deliverables, and prepare periodic ICMR technical/progress reports.
- Assist PI in scientific/financial utilization planning and procurement/technical specifications where required.
- Lead manuscripts, intellectual-property outputs, conference dissemination, project review meetings and audit/review documentation.

5. PROJECT TECHNICAL SUPPORT-III (PTS-III)

Proposed Role: Technical Support – Participant Recruitment, Data Collection, Wearable Device Support & Project Documentation

Essential Qualification:

- Three-year Graduate Degree in a relevant subject/field + three years' experience in the relevant subject/field; OR Post Graduate Degree in the relevant subject/field.
- For Engineering/IT/CS, ICMR's framework specifies a First Class Four-Year Graduate Degree with three years experience, as applicable.

Desirable Qualification/Experience:

- Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Psychology, Public Health, Medical Laboratory Technology, Electronics/Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science/IT, Data Science, Allied Health Sciences or other relevant disciplines.




- Experience in participant recruitment/data collection, clinical research, biomedical data collection, GSR/EDA, wearable devices, biosensor experiments, laboratory assistance, data entry/management, Excel/database management or hospital/clinical research.
- Knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi/English for participant interaction and experience in ICMR/clinical research projects will be desirable.

Major Responsibilities:

- Assist with participant recruitment and study documentation as per the approved protocol.
- Assist in the collection of GSR/EDA and other physiological data and operate wearable/biomedical data acquisition equipment after training

.
- Assist sweat sample collection, laboratory sample handling, labeling and tracking under approved SOPs.
- Maintain participant records, CRFs, data entry, visit schedules, follow-up coordination and equipment/experiment logs.
- Maintain confidentiality and assist PRS-I/II/III with field, laboratory, documentation, workshops and dissemination activities.

6. General Terms & Conditions

- Positions are purely temporary and project-specific and will be co-terminus with the project.
- Initial appointment may normally be for one year or for the period specified by the project, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
- Extension may be considered based on project requirements, performance and approval of the competent authority.
- The posts do not confer any right to regular appointment at Parul University or ICMR.
- Age relaxation shall be applicable as per prevailing ICMR/GoI rules.
- Educational qualifications must be from recognized institutions/universities. Relevant experience should have been acquired after obtaining the minimum essential qualification.
- Mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility does not guarantee selection. Shortlisting may be undertaken based on qualifications and relevant experience.
- A written test/technical assessment may be conducted, if required. Final selection shall be based on interview and/or written/technical assessment as decided by the competent authority.
- Candidates must produce original certificates and submit self-attested copies of educational qualifications, experience, age proof and other required documents.
- False information or suppression of facts will result in cancellation of candidature/appointment.
- No TA/DA will ordinarily be paid for attending the selection process.
- The competent authority reserves the right to increase/decrease/cancel vacancies or modify the recruitment process. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
- Selected candidates may be required to work beyond normal office hours and/or undertake field or clinical visits depending on project requirements.
- Strict confidentiality of participant, clinical, biomarker and research data shall be maintained. All research activities shall follow the approved ethics protocol, institutional requirements and applicable ICMR guidelines.

7. Significant Eligibility Note The qualification and experience prescribed above are the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates having relevant higher qualifications, research experience, publications, technical expertise and experience in ICMR/clinical/biomedical research will be preferred, subject to the applicable ICMR guidelines and approval of the competent authority.

Experience will be counted from the date of acquiring the minimum essential qualification and should be in the relevant field/discipline.
