Job Summary

A QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Engineer in the construction field is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities adhere to established quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting inspections, and working closely with construction teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities: -

Quality Management System (QMS) Development:

Develop and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001

standards or other relevant standards.

Prepare quality assurance plans, quality control procedures, and work instructions.

Inspection and Testing

Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Oversee and manage the testing of materials and construction works, ensuring all tests are carried out and documented properly.

Review and approve test results, and coordinate with project teams to address any non-

conformances.

Documentation and Reporting

Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, non-conformances, and corrective actions.

Maintain records of all inspections, test results, and quality control activities.

Ensure all quality documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible.

Compliance and Standards

Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant building codes, standards, and project specifications.

Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Coordination and Communication

Work closely with project managers, site engineers,



and subcontractors to promote quality in all aspects of construction.

Facilitate quality meetings and training sessions for construction staff to promote awareness and understanding of quality standards.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for improvement in construction processes and quality management practices.

Implement and monitor corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the project team.

Client and PMC Interaction

Interface with clients and PMC to communicate quality-related matters and ensure client satisfaction.

Participate in project meetings to provide insights on quality issues and progress.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a QA/QC role within the construction industry.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ Certified Quality

Engineer, or similar are preferred.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Quality Manager or Project Manager.
