ROLE OBJECTIVE

As Calibration Engineer, the incumbent will:

Calibration & Verification: Conduct periodic calibration of instruments and maintain accuracy in measurements as per industry standards.

Equipment Management: Ensure all measurement and testing equipment comply with ISO, ASTM, and other relevant industry standards.

MSA & GR&R; Implementation: Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gauge R&R; studies to analyze measurement variations.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain calibration records, certificates, and logs as per ISO 17025 and regulatory requirements.

Third-Party Liaison: Coordinate with external calibration agencies such as UL, TUV, and NABL-accredited calibration centers.

Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and rectify instrument failures or inaccuracies to ensure precision in production measurements.

Training & Guidance: Train and mentor production and quality teams on instrument handling, calibration procedures, and measurement best practices.

Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits related to calibration and metrology processes.

Supervise calibration and validation of all testing and measurement instruments used in module and pack production

Maintain traceability of calibration records, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and industry best practices

Ensure regular preventive maintenance of lab equipment like torque wrenches, voltage/current meters, thermal sensors, and pressure gauges.

Work with external calibration service providers for high-precision equipment calibration.

Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D;, and quality teams to improve testing efficiency and reliability.

STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES- Should show proficiency in working with purchasing staff,



design and manufacturing engineers to establish quality requirements from supplier

- Develop and assure Supplier quality audit plan to meet the objective.
- Manage the root cause analysis and further administer the supplier maintenance and corrective action (Supplier Quality Alert processes)
- Support purchasing, engineering and production departments with supplier quality questions to be answered by supplier quarterly, about their operation and business
- Ensure suppliers are guided on the optimal technologies, processes, tooling, materials and methods for the part and application being designed to meet companies’ compliance standards
- Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement in supplier processes such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Support new product launches by ensuring suppliers can deliver to the required quality standards
- Procurement: For the new supplier sourcing, qualification and development

R&D;: For ensuring availability of right quality raw material to meet new innovation

DESIRED PROFILE

Experience

Bachelor’s Mechanical / Electrical/ Instrumentation engineering

Has 3-7 years’ experience in the manufacturing operation

At least 3 years of holding relevant position, preferably in high precision manufacturing industries.

Experience of dealing with suppliers

Prior experience in quality function in lithium- ion pack manufacturing if any
