Role & responsibilities

Procurement & Purchase

- Manage end-to-end procurement of construction materials, finishes, MEP items, electrical, plumbing, hardware, sanitaryware, tiles, paints, steel, cement and other project requirements.
- Prepare and execute purchase orders based on approved requirements and project schedules.
- Ensure timely availability of materials at project sites to avoid delays.
- Coordinate with project, engineering, stores and accounts teams for procurement planning.

2. Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations and negotiate prices, payment terms, credit periods and delivery schedules.
- Maintain an updated vendor database and develop alternate sources for critical materials.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality and delivery commitments.

3. Cost Control & Negotiation

- Achieve cost savings through effective negotiation, bulk purchasing and alternate sourcing.
- Conduct market surveys to monitor material prices and market trends.
- Ensure purchases are made within approved budgets and commercial terms.
- Analyse quotations and prepare comparative statements for management approval.

4. Quality & Material Coordination

- Ensure materials conform to approved specifications, brands and quality standards.




- Coordinate with project/technical teams for material approvals and samples.
- Resolve quality issues and material discrepancies with suppliers.

5. Inventory & Delivery Management

- Coordinate with stores/site teams to monitor stock levels and consumption.
- Plan procurement based on project schedules and material lead times.
- Track purchase orders, dispatches and deliveries.
- Minimise excess inventory, shortages and material wastage.

6. Documentation & MIS

- Maintain purchase orders, quotations, comparative statements, invoices and vendor records.
- Prepare regular procurement MIS covering:

- Pending purchase orders

- Material delivery status

- Price comparisons

- Vendor performance

- Cost savings

- Outstanding payments
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company procurement procedures

Preferred candidate profile

- Robust commercial and negotiation abilities.
- Good knowledge of construction material rates and market trends.
- Able to handle multiple projects and urgent procurement requirements.
- Strong coordination skills with project, accounts, stores and management teams.
- Honest, organised and process-oriented.
- Willing to travel to project sites locally and to search and explore vendor locations when required.
