- Job Title (Designation) - Project Lead Design Engineer Mechanical
- The Project Lead Mechanical Engineering is responsible for leading and delivering mechanical engineering activities across projects by providing solid technical direction, effective people leadership, and cross-functional coordination. This role exists to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions while developing team capability, enforcing engineering standards, and acting as the key technical interface between engineering, project management, manufacturing, and customers.
- Key Responsibilities - Product design proposal for Customer & review of product design with designer for 2D drawings, 3D Cad-models & BOMs from proto to Production levels.

Lead mechanical design, analysis, and engineering execution across multiple projects.

Provide technical leadership through design reviews, calculations, FEA validation, and engineering approvals. -

Plan, assign, and monitor team tasks to meet project schedules, quality standards, and cost targets. -

Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements and related specifications. -

Coordinate with Global engineering teams and Customers for any technical reviews, feasibility issues related to design. -

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Controls, Automation & Virtual commissioning. -

Drive problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for design and manufacturing issues. -

Proficient in undertaking process enhancement, process modifications, process and quality improvements to enhance operational efficiency and thereby escalating productivity. -

Support documentation,



design change management, and product lifecycle activities.

- Independent Judgement - Independent judgment in planning and executing mechanical engineering activities, selecting appropriate design approaches, materials, and manufacturing methods, and resolving technical issues. -

Involves in making decisions on task prioritization, resource utilization, and technical trade-offs within defined project objectives, standards, and budgets.

- Education Qualification: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with 9+ years of experience
- Required Technical lead or Project lead role in Engineering department
- Preferred Prior experience in Engineering design for Powertrain assembly lines, End of line testing equipment & automation for automobiles testing & calibration.
- Required - Technical knowledge -

Lead and review mechanical design activities including concept development, detailed design, validation, and release. -

Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, codes, and regulations (ISO, ASME, DIN, ASTM, BIS, etc.). -

Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for design, manufacturing, or field issues. -

Drive standardization, reuse of designs, and continuous improvement of engineering processes. -

Supports team members in solving technical issues-

Discuss with cross functional team and customer for technical reviews.-

Design Skills -





Support design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for cost (DFC). -

Guide the team on best engineering practices, design methodologies, tolerance stack-up, and GD&T.; -

Perform and/or review engineering calculations, FEA, and simulations to validate designs. -

Product design proposal for Customer, Cost Estimation & review of product design with designer for 2D drawings, 3D Cad-models & BOMs from proto to Production levels.-

Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements and related specifications.-

Projects handled -

Powertrain assembly lines, End of line testing equipment & automation for automobiles testing & calibration.-

Software tool knowledge and experience -

Knowledge of 3D CAD tools: Autodesk Inventor 2026 / SolidWorks 2025 / Auto CAD 2026 -

Knowledge of BOM creation & maintain in the Softwares like SAP & ERP -

Softwares skill knowledge of Auto-CAD, Solid Works, PTC Creo, ERP for BOM creation.-

Application knowledge of GD & T. -

Kaizen/Poka-yoke/FMEA/5S/Continuous improvement activities to fool-proof the process, enhance Productivity & improve operational efficiency.

- People Skills
- Interface with global customers to clarify technical requirements, address concerns, and present solutions.
- Support supplier technical discussions, evaluations, and design reviews.
- Preferred Work experience of Powertrain assembly lines, End of line testing equipment, Automation for vehicle testing & calibration equipments would be preferred.
- Computer proficiency Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Autodesk Inventor 2026 / SolidWorks 2025 / Auto CAD 2026
