- Supervise the day-to-day civil construction activities at project sites.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure works are completed as per approved schedules.
- Record daily site activities and maintain proper construction records.
- Carry out site inspections, setting out, and verification of lines and levels.
- Supervise water supply pipeline and associated civil infrastructure works.
- Review designs, drawings, technical specifications and estimates and ensure compliance during execution.
- Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to approved specifications and engineering standards.
- Take measurements of completed works and verify quantities for contractor bills.
- Prepare/review Measurement Books (M-Books) and support payment certification.
- Identify construction bottlenecks, delays and technical issues and report them to the Team Leader.
- Coordinate with the Contractor, Client representatives and other stakeholders for timely completion.
- Monitor physical and financial progress and provide inputs for progress reports.
- Assist with utility identification, shifting and coordination where required.
- Monitor safety and traffic-management arrangements during construction.
- Verify as-built drawings against actual site conditions.
- Maintain project records, MIS and relevant construction documentation.
- Assist the Team Leader in contract administration, variations, claims and technical matters.
- Monitor rectification of defects during the Defects Liability Period.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of total qualified experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision related to:
- Water Supply Systems
- Sewage and Drainage Systems
- Urban Water Supply / Sewerage Projects
- Experience in construction supervision, design and implementation of municipal water supply and sewerage systems.
- Experience in externally funded projects will be an added advantage.
- Computer proficiency is preferred.
Preferred Profile
Candidates with experience in PMC/consultancy assignments, government water-supply projects, DI/HDPE pipeline works, OHTs, sumps, pump rooms, billing/measurements, quality control and construction supervision would be particularly relevant to this position.
