Role Description The Production Supervisor is a full time, on-site role based in Kanakapura. This role oversees daily production operations to ensure output meets quality, safety, and delivery standards.

Responsibilities include organizing and monitoring production schedules, coordinating resources and materials, and aligning team activities with production plans.

The Production

Supervisor guides and supports production staff, conducts shift briefings, resolves operational issues, and enforces safety and compliance procedures. The role also involves tracking performance metrics, identifying process improvements, and collaborating with management to meet production targets and optimize efficiency.

Job Summary The Production Supervisor will oversee daily operations of the offset printing and packaging department, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met. This role involves managing shop-floor staff, coordinating with other departments, and driving continuous improvement in press and packaging operations.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily offset printing and packaging operations to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.
- Allocate manpower, machines, and materials efficiently across shifts.
- Monitor job progress and resolve bottlenecks in press runs, finishing, and packing lines.

Quality Control

- Ensure printed and packaged products meet quality standards (color accuracy, registration, finishing, packaging integrity).
- Conduct regular quality checks and coordinate with QC teams to minimize rejections and rework.
- Investigate quality complaints and implement corrective actions.

Team Supervision

- Supervise, train, and motivate press operators, packaging staff, and helpers.
- Assign duties, monitor performance, and conduct shift briefings.




- Manage attendance, discipline, and performance evaluations of team members.

Machine & Process Management

- Oversee offset press operations (e.g., sheet-fed/web offset), die-cutting, folding, binding, and packaging equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with the maintenance team to reduce downtime.
- Optimize processes to reduce waste, material costs, and cycle time.

Safety & Compliance

- Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and statutory regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free production floor (5S practices).

Reporting & Coordination

- Maintain production records, downtime logs, and shift reports.
- Coordinate with planning, procurement, design/pre-press, and dispatch teams for smooth workflow.
- Report daily/weekly production output, efficiency, and issues to management.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma/Degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, Packaging Technology, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of offset press operations, pre-press workflow, and post-press/packaging processes.
- Familiarity with color management, ink/substrate properties, and finishing techniques (lamination, die-cutting, folding, gluing).

Skills & Competencies

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities on the shop floor.
- Knowledge of production planning and lean manufacturing/5S practices.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP/production software).
- Effective communication skills for cross-department coordination.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle production pressure.

Working Conditions

- Factory/shop-floor environment; may require standing for extended periods.
- Rotational shift work, including weekends/holidays as per production needs.
