Position Description: Product & Component Design Engineer - Medical Devices (5-7 Years Experience)

- Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Product & Component Design Engineer with 5-

7 years of experience in medical device product development to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating medical device products,

components, and assemblies from concept through commercialisation.

Candidates with a strong background in System & Component Level Mechanical Product Design experience. Exposure to IoT is preferred.

This role requires a self-driven engineer capable of independently owning and delivering a complete product design programme, while ensuring compliance with medical device regulations,

design controls, quality standards, and manufacturing requirements.

- Responsibilities:

- Single-handedly drive product development programmes with minimal supervision.
- Own the entire product lifecycle including:
- User requirements gathering
- Product architecture development
- Concept generation
- Detailed design
- Prototyping
- Design verification
- Design validation
- Risk management
- Regulatory documentation
- Design transfer
- Production support
- Make critical technical decisions and drive design reviews independently.
- Be accountable for product performance, reliability, manufacturability, compliance, and cost

targets.
- Manage project timelines, technical risks, and deliverables throughout the development

cycle. Product Design & Development:
- Design and develop innovative medical device products, components, and sub-assemblies.




- Create robust engineering solutions based on customer, clinical, regulatory, and business

requirements.
- Generate 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and product specifications.
- Lead concept generation, design optimisation, and engineering problem-solving activities.

- Develop prototypes and evaluate design concepts through testing and analysis.
- Drive continuous product improvements and value engineering initiatives.

3. Qualifications:
- Diploma/PG Diploma/Bachelor’s/master’s/Equivalent degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering (Preferred)
- Biomedical Engineering
- Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
- Related Engineering Discipline
- Proficiency in CAD software: SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD.
- Previous experience in medical components manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Solid background in plastic and sheet metal parts design with a focus on DFA and DFM.
- Knowledge of Tolerance Stack Analysis, drafting, and simulation (FEA).
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
