Position: Patient Counsellor, Gynaecology

Department: Gynaecology

Job Summary The Gynaecology Counsellor is responsible for counselling patients and their attendants regarding consultations, investigations, treatment procedures, surgeries, packages, and follow-up care. The counsellor should provide clear and accurate information while maintaining empathy, confidentiality, and professional behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

- Counsel patients and attendants regarding recommended treatment and procedures.
- Explain investigations, procedures, surgery processes, estimated costs, and hospital protocols.
- Assist patients in understanding pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
- Follow up with patients regarding appointments, investigations, procedures, and treatment plans.
- Coordinate admissions and discharge-related counselling where required.
- Achieve assigned counselling and conversion targets, wherever applicable.

Required Skills




- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of basic gynaecology procedures and terminology.
- Ability to explain medical information in easy language.
- Good convincing and counselling skills.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Ability to handle difficult patients and attendants professionally.

Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: Graduate in any discipline; healthcare/medical background preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in hospital counselling, gynaecology, healthcare, patient relations, or a similar role preferred.
