The Pet Point is a pet retail and services company providing pet supplies, grooming, and veterinary services. We are looking for a responsible and compassionate Paravet to support our veterinary team and ensure quality care for pets visiting our clinics.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the veterinarian during consultations, examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Handle and restrain dogs and cats safely and calmly during examinations and treatments.
- Support with basic clinical procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
- Assist with vaccinations, deworming, wound care, dressing, medication administration, and other routine procedures under veterinary supervision.
- Monitor pets before, during, and after procedures and immediately report any abnormal signs to the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate records of consultations, vaccinations, medications, treatments, and follow-ups.
- Ensure that all medical equipment, instruments, examination areas, and treatment areas are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate hygiene and infection-control practices within the clinic.
- Support the veterinarian in collecting basic history and relevant information from pet parents.
- Educate pet parents on basic preventive care, vaccination schedules, deworming, nutrition, hygiene, and follow-up requirements, as directed by the veterinarian.
- Coordinate with pet parents regarding follow-up visits, reports, and treatment instructions.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medicines, vaccines, consumables, and clinical supplies.
- Monitor clinic inventory and inform the veterinarian/store manager when medicines or consumables need to be replenished.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for pets during their visit.
- Handle emergencies calmly and assist the veterinarian with immediate care as required.
- Follow all veterinary protocols, safety procedures,



and instructions provided by the veterinarian.
- Maintain professional and empathetic communication with pet parents at all times.

Veterinary support roles should also place emphasis on safe animal handling, documented training, hygiene, exposure prevention, and appropriate escalation to the veterinarian. Requirements
- Qualification: Diploma/Certificate in Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Assistant/Paravet course, or relevant qualification.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a veterinary clinic, pet hospital, pet-care centre, or similar environment preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and strong practical knowledge may also be considered.
- Good knowledge of basic animal handling and veterinary procedures.
- Comfortable handling both dogs and cats.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with animals.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced retail/clinic environment.
- Willingness to work on weekends and rotational shifts, as required.

What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is hands-on, responsible, compassionate towards animals, and comfortable working directly with pet parents and veterinarians. The ideal candidate should be able to manage routine clinical support independently while knowing when an issue needs to be immediately escalated to the veterinarian.

- Note: Clinical diagnosis, prescribing, and treatment decisions should remain with the veterinarian; the Paravet role is to assist and carry out delegated tasks within their training and applicable requirements. Medication administration, for example, requires correct dosing and appropriate veterinary direction.
