Role Overview

We are looking for experienced NOC Shift Engineers to provide round-the-clock operational support for the PAN

India network. The role involves network monitoring, fault management, service restoration, performance monitoring, escalation management, and coordination with field engineers for SDH, DWDM, and CWDM networks.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 247 operational support for the PAN India network from NTCC.

Monitor network elements and restore services such as Lambda/STM during network outages.

Monitor and troubleshoot power failures, communication line alarms, bit errors, framing errors, line coding errors, and other network performance issues.

Handle major network degradation, including database inconsistencies and degradation in network capacity.

Troubleshoot communication issues between network nodes and EMS (Element Management System).

¢

Maintain visibility and connectivity of network nodes including SDH, DWDM, and CWDM.

¢

Perform day-to-day network monitoring, operations, and performance evaluation.

¢

Support new node implementation and configuration, including new node uploading, cross-connection, and link connectivity between nodes.

¢

Coordinate with field engineers for preventive and routine maintenance activities.

¢

Provide technical support and guidance to field teams during network faults and restoration activities.

¢





Ensure timely escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate technical or management teams.

¢

Assist in preparing AMC and network operation reports.

¢

Maintain the incident report register with proper details and ensure required sign-off is completed.

¢

Maintain proper documentation of incidents, outages, restoration activities, and escalations.

¢

Follow defined SLA, escalation matrix, and operational processes for timely resolution of network issues.

Required Skills

Strong understanding of Telecom Transmission Networks.

¢

Hands-on experience with SDH, DWDM, and CWDM networks.

¢

Knowledge of Lambda/STM services and network restoration.

¢

Understanding of transmission alarms such as Bit Error, Framing Error, Line Coding Error, etc.

¢

Knowledge of EMS/NMS monitoring and troubleshooting.

¢

Good understanding of network topology, node connectivity, and link management.

¢

Ability to perform fault isolation and RCA.

¢

Good communication and coordination skills.

¢

Ability to work effectively in a 247 rotational shift workplace.

Good documentation and reporting skills.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Telecommunications, or related engineering discipline.

Preferred Experience

Experience in Telecom NOC / Transmission / Network Operations.

¢

Experience working with SDH/DWDM/CWDM networks.

¢

Experience in 247 NOC monitoring, fault management, and service restoration will be preferred.
