Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented New Product Development Executive to drive the development of new writing instruments from concept to commercial production. The role will involve working closely with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchase and Marketing teams to develop innovative, cost-effective and manufacturable products.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the end-to-end new product development cycle, from product concept, design and prototyping to final production.

- Understand market trends, customer requirements and competitor products to identify new product opportunities.

- Develop product concepts, specifications and detailed product requirements.

- Coordinate with designers and engineering teams for 3D models, 2D drawings, product designs and prototypes.

- Work on product development involving plastic components, metal parts, refills, tips, clips, barrels, caps and other pen components.

- Coordinate with tool room / mould vendors for tooling, mould development and modifications.

- Conduct prototype evaluation, product testing and design validation.

- Identify design, material and manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.

- Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and smooth production transfer.

- Coordinate with suppliers for development of new components,



materials and processes.

- Prepare and maintain product specifications, BOMs, drawings, samples and development documentation.

- Monitor development timelines, costs and quality parameters.

- Conduct trials and resolve issues during pilot production and product launch.

- Ensure successful handover of developed products from NPD to mass production.

- Continuously explore opportunities for product improvement, cost optimisation and innovation.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline.

- Development / R&D;, preferably in manufacturing.

- Experience in writing instruments, consumer products, plastic products, injection moulding or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.

- Valuable understanding of product design, materials, manufacturing processes, tooling and injection moulding.

- Strong understanding of drawings, BOMs, tolerances and product specifications.

- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to coordinate with multiple internal departments and external vendors.

- Strong project coordination and communication skills.

- Should be hands-on, innovative and comfortable working from product concept through production.
