Mother Teacher (Primary) – CBSE School

Job Summary:

The Mother Teacher is responsible for handling all subjects for a primary class (typically Grades I–V) and ensuring the overall academic, emotional, and social development of students. The role aligns with the guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and focuses on creating a nurturing, engaging, and child-friendly learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach multiple subjects (English, EVS, Mathematics, etc.) to a single class.
- Plan and deliver interactive and activity-based lessons.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom setting.
- Monitor and support students’ academic and emotional development.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments.
- Maintain student records, attendance, and progress reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance.
- Organize classroom activities, projects, and co-curricular events.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively with a caring approach.
- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and events.

Required Qualifications:





- Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline
- B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. (mandatory as per school norms)

Experience:

- 2 to 5 years of teaching experience in primary classes
- Experience in a CBSE or reputed school preferred

Skills Required:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a child-friendly approach
- Ability to handle multiple subjects effectively
- Creativity in teaching methods and classroom activities
- Classroom management and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of activity-based and experiential learning methods
- Familiarity with smart classroom tools
- Ability to engage young learners through storytelling and play-way methods
