(Mandatory experience in a Buying House / Buying Agency)

We are seeking an agile and detail-oriented Merchandiser with 3 to 5 years of core buying house experience. The ideal candidate will act as the vital link between our international buyers and regional vendor factories. You will take complete ownership of the product lifecycle from initial sample development and costing to tracking production and ensuring on-time, quality shipments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Buyer Communication & Account Management

- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned international buyers or retail clients.
- Manage day-to-day email correspondence, clarifying product specifications, tech packs, and feedback.
- Present new collections, design samples, and material innovations to buyers during selection meetings.

2. Vendor Management & Production Tracking

- Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendor factories capable of meeting quality and volume requirements.
- Maintain rigorous Time & Action (T&A;) calendars and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports to closely monitor every stage of production.
- Coordinate with factory production teams and conduct regular visits to ensure adherence to strict delivery timelines.

3. Costing & Price Negotiation

- Calculate accurate product costing structures encompassing materials, labour, margins, and logistics.
- Negotiate target prices effectively with suppliers and vendors to achieve optimal profit margins for the buying house.

4. Sampling & Product Development





- Manage the complete sample execution cycle (Proto, Fit, Size-set, and Pre-Production samples) based on buyer tech packs.
- Oversee material, trim, and fabric sourcing, ensuring they pass necessary lab testing and compliance criteria.
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams to review samples and troubleshoot any manufacturing defects prior to bulk production.

5. Logistics & Inspection Coordination

- Align closely with internal QA inspectors to schedule inline and final inspections.
- Coordinate with shipping and documentation teams to facilitate accurate documentation, packaging requirements, and seamless container loading.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Education: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, Textile Engineering, Garment Merchandising, or a related field (NIFT, Pearl, or equivalent institutions preferred).
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of dedicated merchandising experience specifically within a Buying House or Export Agency.
- Product Knowledge: Robust technical understanding of [Apparel/Home Furnishings Soft Goods manufacturing, construction, and fabric/material testing.
- T&A; Mastery: Proven experience owning and executing tight Time & Action (T&A;) timelines under high pressure.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills for direct buyer interaction.
- Software Proficiency: Excellent command over MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), Word, PowerPoint, Mail.
