We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Designer with a solid background in Research and Development (R&D;) to join our team in Coimbatore, India. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, testing, and refinement of mechanical components and systems, bringing innovative concepts to life.

This role requires robust analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing mechanical design through research-driven insights. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions from concept through to completion.

- Design and Development: Develop and design mechanical components, systems, and technical specifications. Apply the Stage Gate process to ensure design projects move smoothly through critical phases, adhering to timelines and quality standards.
- 3D Modelling and CAD: Utilize SolidWorks for part modeling, assembly, drafting, and weldments. Manage design traceability and version control using SolidWorks PDM Works. Generate BOMs and manage engineering change orders (ECOs). Apply GD&T; principles throughout the design process.
- Design Analysis: Conduct hands-on FEA and other engineering analysis to evaluate structural, thermal, and fatigue characteristics of designs.



Integrate welding standards (AWS, ISO) into design and drafting workflows.
- Communication and Collaboration: Clearly articulate design concepts, technical specifications, and project updates to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and collaborative problem-solving.

Mandatory Skills:

- Proficiency in SolidWorks including part modeling, assembly, drafting, and Weldments (mandatory)
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM Works for version control and traceability
- Strong CAD tools expertise (mandatory)

Technical Requirements:

- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design with an R&D; focus
- Solid understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Hands-on experience with FEA software for structural, thermal, and fatigue analysis
- Knowledge of welding standards (AWS, ISO) and their application in design
- Experience generating BOMs and managing ECOs
- Familiarity with the Stage Gate product development process

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
