Role & responsibilities

- Designation: Mechanical Design Engineer Dosing System
- Department: Engineering / Mechanical Design
- Function: Dosing System Design & Engineering

Job Purpose To design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and complete dosing systems in accordance with customer requirements, applicable engineering standards, manufacturing capabilities, and project specifications while ensuring reliability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of manufacturing and assembly.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop mechanical designs and detailed drawings for dosing systems and associated equipment.
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Perform mechanical calculations related to equipment sizing, components, shafts, supports, fasteners, and other mechanical elements.
- Review customer specifications, technical requirements, and project documents.
- Select appropriate materials based on process conditions, application, corrosion resistance, operating temperature, pressure, and cost.
- Develop BOMs and manufacturing drawings with appropriate specifications and tolerances.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, and project teams for smooth execution.
- Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing and assembly.




- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through design optimization and value engineering.
- Review existing designs and implement improvements based on manufacturing and field feedback.
- Support technical discussions with customers, vendors, and internal teams when required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and company design practices.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, inspection, installation, and commissioning.

Technical Skills

- AutoCAD proficiency.
- SolidWorks proficiency.
- Mechanical engineering calculations.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Knowledge of material selection and application.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
- BOM preparation and engineering documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience: 2-5 years preferred; 6+ years may be considered for senior-level responsibilities
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; Chemical Engineering graduates with relevant design experience may also be considered
- Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Head Mechanical Design
