Role: Material Unloading Supervisor – Inward Material & QC

1. Job Purpose To supervise safe and timely unloading of incoming materials, verify material quantity and condition, perform basic incoming Quality Control (QC) checks as per defined specifications/checklists, identify non-conforming material, and coordinate with team, QC, Security, Transport and Plant teams for smooth material receipt.

2. Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise daily unloading of trucks/vehicles and allocate manpower according to workload.
2. Ensure vehicles are positioned safely and unloading is carried out as per SOP and safety requirements.
3. Check incoming material against invoice, delivery challan, PO/GRN, packing list or other available documents.
4. Verify material quantity, weight, number of packages/bags/bundles and physical condition during unloading.
5. Perform basic visual QC inspection for contamination, moisture, rust, damage, missing part, foreign material, mixed material, wrong grade, packing condition and other visible deviations, as applicable.
6. Check material identification, labels, batch/lot details, grade/specification and traceability information.
7. Take or coordinate samples as per the approved sampling plan and send them to QC/Lab where required.
8. Segregate or quarantine damaged, contaminated, mixed, short, excess or otherwise non-conforming material and immediately inform the concerned team.
9. Prepare/maintain unloading and incoming inspection checklists, shortage/damage reports and rejection/quarantine records.
10. Coordinate with QC/QA for final clearance of material wherever testing or technical approval is required.
11. Ensure correct stacking/segregation of accepted material and prevent mixing of different grades/lots.
12. Monitor unloading productivity, manpower utilization and truck turnaround time.
13. Ensure PPE, safe material-handling practices, housekeeping and accident-prevention requirements are followed.
14. Report any discrepancy in quantity, quality,



documentation or vehicle condition to the supervisor/manager immediately.
15. Prepare daily shift-wise reports covering vehicles received, material quantity, QC observations, rejected/quarantined material, shortages and pending actions.
16. Incoming Material QC Knowledge Required
17. Basic understanding of Quality Control, incoming inspection and acceptance/rejection criteria.
18. Ability to identify common material defects, contamination, foreign material, moisture, corrosion/rust, damage and mixed grades.

Qualification: ITI / Diploma – Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Metallurgy or related trade

Experience: 1–4 years in material unloading, stores, warehouse, or incoming inspection preferred

Reporting: To Manager

- Understanding of material specifications, grade identification, Barcode labels and basic inspection standards.
- Knowledge of sampling, segregation, quarantine and non-conformance reporting.
- Ability to use basic measuring/weighing instruments as required by the material and plant SOP.
- Ability to compare physical material condition with approved specification, checklist or sample/reference.
- Basic knowledge of 5S, SOP, PPE, safety and material traceability.

Skills Required

- Good observation and inspection skills.
- Basic computer knowledge; MS Excel/ERP entry preferred.
- Valuable communication and manpower-handling skills.
- Ability to prepare daily reports and maintain records.
- Ability to identify and escalate quality deviations quickly.
- Teamwork,

- Preferred Candidate Profile
- ITI or Diploma holder with practical exposure to plant, warehouse, stores, material handling or QC activities.
- Candidates from Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, Electrical or related technical backgrounds preferred.
- Experience in incoming material inspection, scrap/raw-material handling, recycling, manufacturing or warehouse operations will be an advantage.
- Candidate should be comfortable working on the shop floor/plant and supervising unloading manpower.

- Safe and timely unloading of all scheduled vehicles.
- Accuracy of material quantity and documentation.
- Correct identification and reporting of quality deviations.
- Zero unauthorized mixing of different grades/lots.
- Timely quarantine/escalation of non-conforming material.
- Accurate daily reports and inspection records.
- Reduction in unloading delays, material damage and avoidable discrepancies.

Salary & Working Conditions Salary: Up to -25,000 per month, depending on qualification, relevant experience and interview performance. Shift duty may be applicable as per plant requirement. The role involves regular shop-floor activity, vehicle handling coordination and physical inspection of incoming material.

The candidate must have both material unloading supervision capability and basic incoming-material QC knowledge. Candidates who have only manpower supervision experience but no understanding of material inspection should not be preferred.
