Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manuscript Writer with a proven track record in preparing and publishing scientific manuscripts. The ideal candidate will have strong scientific acumen, excellent writing and editing skills, and familiarity with journal publication standards. This role requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.

Publication Planning & Manuscript Management (Approx. 50%)

- Lead end-to-end manuscript development projects for clinical studies, real-world evidence studies, reviews, and scientific communications.
- Coordinate with freelance medical writers, statisticians, investigators, KOLs, and sponsors to ensure timely and high-quality manuscript delivery.
- Manage publication timelines, track milestones, follow up with stakeholders, and ensure adherence to publication plans.
- Review manuscript drafts prepared by freelancers and internal teams to ensure scientific accuracy, consistency, compliance, and publication readiness.




- Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors regarding publication strategy, manuscript development, journal submission plans, and publication timelines.
- Develop publication strategies and journal targeting recommendations based on study objectives, therapeutic area, impact factor requirements, indexing status, audience, acceptance probability, and publication timelines.
- Conduct journal landscape assessments and prepare journal recommendation reports for sponsors.
- Manage journal submissions, author communications, revisions, rebuttal letters, and publication-related correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with GPP (Good Publication Practice), ICMJE, CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, and other relevant publication guidelines.
- Coordinate publication budgets and freelancer payments, including review of invoices, deliverables, and timelines.

Medical Writing & Scientific Support (Approx. 50%)

- Independently author and review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, conference presentations, literature reviews, and scientific communication documents.
- Support development of clinical study protocols, protocol amendments, synopsis documents, and other study-related documentation as required.




- Collaborate with biostatistics and data management teams to interpret study results and translate findings into explicit scientific narratives.
- Review and summarize clinical data, statistical outputs, and scientific literature.
- Provide scientific writing support for research proposals, study reports, and sponsor-facing scientific documents.
- Participate in client discussions and provide scientific and publication-related guidance.
- Contribute to process improvements, quality initiatives, and development of publication management workflows.
- Mentor junior writers and publication coordinators on scientific writing and publication best practices.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 3–10 years of experience in medical writing, scientific communications, publication planning, or medical affairs.
- Strong experience managing manuscripts from concept through publication.
- Hands-on experience working with journals, peer-review processes, and publication submissions.
- Familiarity with publication guidelines including ICMJE, GPP, CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, and CARE.
- Ability to independently engage with sponsors, investigators, and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing freelance writers and publication vendors is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of clinical research methodology, biostatistics, and interpretation of clinical data.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, reference management software, and publication submission platforms.
