Our Performance Improvement team provides Business Transformation and Performance Improvement Services to Corporates, Investors, and their portfolio companies, delivering –
- Performance improvement via cost reduction and revenue growth programmes
- Large, complex organizational restructuring and business transformation
- Rapid Results Program, which helps to quickly and effectively assess business process management risks and identify key areas impeding performance
How you will contribute We are seeking an experienced Manager – ERP Implementation / Transformation Readiness to lead finance preparedness activities ahead of an ERP transformation. The role will assess and prepare the Finance organization, processes, data, master data, controls, reporting, and technology landscape for a successful ERP implementation. The role will work closely with Finance leadership, business process owners, ERP implementation teams, IT, data teams, and other functional workstreams to identify readiness gaps, define remediation actions, and establish the foundation required for a successful implementation.
The ideal candidate will have strong FICO functional knowledge, finance transformation experience, business process understanding, and program management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Expertise across one or more of the following areas
1. FI/CO Implementation Readiness Assessment
- Lead a comprehensive assessment of the organization's readiness for ERP implementation.
- Assess current-state FI/CO processes, organizational structures, master data, transactional data, reporting, controls, integrations, and technology landscape.
- Identify key gaps, dependencies, risks, and prerequisites that need to be addressed before implementation.
- Develop a structured FICO readiness roadmap with priorities, owners, timelines, and remediation actions.
- Assess readiness against SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics 365 capabilities and recommended leading practices.
1. Finance Process Readiness
- Assess current finance processes across: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis, Period-end and year-end close and Management reporting
- Identify process standardization opportunities before ERP implementation.
- Identify manual, spreadsheet-driven, highly customized, or non-standard processes that may create implementation risks.
- Define future-state process principles and readiness requirements.
- Assess the organization's ability to adopt SAP standard functionality and minimize unnecessary customizations.
1. Finance Master Data & Chart of Accounts Readiness
- Assess the quality, consistency, ownership, and governance of key finance master data. Lead readiness assessment for: Chart of Accounts, General Ledger accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, Customers and Vendors, Fixed Assets, Banks and bank accounts
- Evaluate opportunities for master-data rationalization and harmonization.
- Assess alignment of the existing Chart of Accounts with the future ERP design.
- Identify duplicate, obsolete, inactive, or poorly governed master data.
- Define data cleansing and remediation requirements before migration.
1. Functional Readiness
- Assess the organization's preparedness for key capabilities, including:
- Universal Journal / ACDOCA (in case of S4HANA), Recent Asset Accounting, Business Partner, Parallel ledgers, Multiple currencies, Profitability Analysis, Fiori-based finance processes, Embedded analytics, Intercompany accounting and Centralized finance processes
- Identify implications of moving from legacy ERP environments to current ERP environments.
- Assess existing customizations and determine which should be retired, redesigned, replaced with standard ERP functionality, or retained.
- Support clean-core readiness assessments.
1. Data Migration Readiness
- Lead assessment of finance data migration preparedness.
- Define requirements for historical and open-item data migration.
- Assess data quality and reconciliation requirements.
- Establish data ownership and accountability across Finance and IT.
- Define cleansing, transformation, mapping, and validation requirements.
- Establish reconciliation principles between legacy systems and new ERP systems.
- Identify data migration risks and dependencies early in the program.
1. Integration & Technology Readiness
- Assess FI/CO dependencies and integration points with: MM, SD, PP, Asset Management, Treasury, Procurement, Sales, Payroll, Banking platforms, Tax systems and Data warehouses and reporting platforms
- Identify upstream and downstream systems that require remediation or redesign.
- Assess interfaces, data flows, integration dependencies, and reconciliation requirements.
- Coordinate with enterprise architecture and technical teams to address integration readiness.
1. Reporting & Management Information Readiness
- Assess existing statutory, management, operational, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Identify reports dependent on legacy ERP structures, custom tables, or manual data manipulation.
- Map critical reports to the future reporting architecture.
- Assess readiness for analytics and enterprise reporting platforms where applicable.
- Define reporting rationalization opportunities and critical reporting requirements for migration.
1. Controls & Compliance Readiness
- Assess the impact of ERP implementation on finance controls and compliance processes.
- Identify key controls affected by changes to processes, organizational structures, master data, workflows, and system configurations.
- Assess segregation-of-duties implications.
- Ensure critical financial controls are incorporated into the future-state design.
- Support audit, compliance, and control stakeholders in understanding S/4HANA implications.
1. Stakeholder & Program Leadership
- Act as a key interface for the transformation program.
- Partner with CFO organization, Controllers, Finance process owners, IT, ERP implementation teams, and business leadership.
- Lead workshops to assess readiness and agree remediation priorities.
- Present readiness findings, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Manage cross-functional dependencies and ensure timely resolution of readiness issues.
- Establish governance mechanisms for tracking preparedness activities.
1. Team Leadership
- Lead a team of finance transformation professionals.
- Define workplans, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
- Review and ensure quality of readiness assessments and recommendations.
- Coach team members on ERP capabilities, finance processes, and consulting methodologies.
- Coordinate activities across FI/CO, data, integration, reporting, controls, and change management teams.
Qualifications
- 6–11 years of experience in ERP transformation and implementation programs
- Experience conducting ERP implementation readiness, assessment, or transformation planning activities.
- Strong experience with SAP / Oracle Fusion / MS Dynamics
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Finance processes and their ERP enablement.
- Strong understanding of Chart of Accounts, financial master data, organizational structures, reporting, controls, and data migration.
- Experience working with Finance leadership and senior business stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and complex transformation workstreams.
- Robust consulting, problem-solving, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
