Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to design, develop and deliver sophisticated software solutions for some of the world’s largest organisations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, working across the full engineering lifecycle — from solution architecture and distributed system design through to development, optimisation, testing and deployment.

You’ll work closely with consulting teams and senior client stakeholders to translate complex business challenges into practical technology solutions. The role is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, remaining hands-on with development and influencing how modern software engineering capabilities are delivered at scale.

What You'll Do

- Act as the technical lead for end-to-end software engineering solutions , from architecture and design through to hands-on development and deployment.
- Work closely with consulting and client teams to identify, prioritise and execute software solutions to complex business problems.
- Design and develop distributed systems and production-scale applications for major enterprise environments.
- Remain hands-on with software development while providing technical leadership across delivery teams.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle, including system design, development, documentation, testing and code reviews.
- Provide expert technical guidance across software engineering, distributed systems, AI and application architecture .
- Develop reusable frameworks, models, components and engineering capabilities that can be applied across different industries and client environments.
- Champion modern software engineering practices and share technical knowledge across the wider engineering community.
- Influence,



educate and directly support clients as they develop and scale their software engineering capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to enhance engineering platforms, tooling and technical capabilities through emerging technologies.
- Contribute to innovative engineering solutions that deliver measurable client impact.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, while remaining primarily an individual contributor .
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary, multi-office and multi-region teams.

What We're Looking For We’re looking for a technically strong software engineer with significant experience designing and building production-grade applications and distributed systems.

You’ll ideally bring

- 5+ years' professional software engineering experience , including 3+ years at Senior, Staff or equivalent level .
- Strong hands-on expertise in Python , ideally with 5+ years of experience.
- Experience with server-side frameworks and technologies such as FastAPI, Node.js and/or Flask .
- Strong experience across AWS, Azure and/or GCP .
- Experience with distributed systems, application architecture and large-scale software design .
- Strong understanding of data architecture, database schema design, database scalability and SQL .
- Experience implementing and scaling structured and/or unstructured databases.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform and/or other contemporary orchestration and infrastructure technologies.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure automation and modern deployment practices .
- Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms,



object-oriented programming, automated testing and software performance.
- Understanding of how software architecture and computer architecture influence application performance and scalability.
- Experience with unit and integration testing and modern quality engineering practices.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and principles .
- Ideally, exposure to client-side technologies such as React, Angular, Vue.js, HTML and CSS .
- Professional hands-on experience across web development, version control, software design patterns, infrastructure and deployment.

What You'll Bring You’ll be comfortable operating in complex and ambiguous environments, working directly with clients and technical teams to turn challenging requirements into scalable solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts, algorithms and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You’ll bring a combination of technical depth, curiosity, proactive problem-solving and critical thinking , together with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, seniority levels and geographies.
