Role & responsibilities

- Design & develop complete bumper systems including Front Bumper, Rear Bumper, Grille, Garnishes, Energy Absorbers, Brackets and associated mounting parts. Knowledge of complete product life cycle of bumper system design & development.

- Should have strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5 and PLM software for 3D modeling, assembly creation, drafting and release activities.

- Perform packaging studies, tolerance stack-up analysis, gap & flush management, DFM/DFA studies and support CAE validation activities.

- Ensure bumper systems comply with applicable pedestrian safety, crashworthiness, AIS, CMVR and OEM standards.

- Ability to lead and interact with Styling, BIW, CAE, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Suppliers and Program teams.

- Create and manage engineering documentation including CAD data, drawings, DFMEA, DVP&R;, reports and release documentation.

- Support prototype builds, testing and validation. Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.





- Ensure engineering deliverables are met on time and within budget from concept to launch.

- Act as SPOC for Bumper System within OEM and development suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field.

- professional experience in automotive bumper design & development.

- Extensive experience in CATIA V5, Teamcenter/PLM.

- Strong knowledge of plastic design, injection molding, GD&T;, DFM/DFA and vehicle integration.

- Familiarity with pedestrian protection, crash regulations, AIS standards and OEM specifications.

- Valuable communication, teamwork and project leadership skills.

- Understanding plastics, painting, chrome finishing, molding processes and tooling feasibility.

Experience in supplier coordination, APQP activities, tooling reviews and issue resolution
