Job Summary:

The Lead Automation Testing is a hands-on technical leader responsible for defining,

implementing, and governing automation testing across UI, API, and integration layers. This role emphasizes high-quality automation scripting, scalable framework design, CI/CD-aligned execution,

and strong expertise in Playwright as a core automation capability. The Automation Lead will mentor engineers at a code and framework level, establish automation standards, and drive scalable, reliable,

and maintainable automation practices across the SDLC.

What you will do here:

- Define and drive the overall automation testing strategy aligned with business and engineering goals.
- Promote an automation-first and shift-left quality mindset across Agile teams.
- Establish and enforce automation standards, coding guidelines, and framework best practices.
- Lead hands-on automation scripting using modern UI tools, with Playwright as a core strength.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable hybrid automation frameworks covering UI, REST API, and integration layers.
- Implement strong scripting practices including modular design, reusable utilities, reliable selectors, and synchronization strategies.
- Optimize automation suites for parallel execution, stability, and faster feedback cycles.
- Drive REST API automation testing to improve backend validation and reduce UI dependency.
- Build end-to-end automation flows combining UI and API layers.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Manage automation repositories, pull requests, and branching strategies using GitHub.




- Enable cloud-based and parallel execution using Lambda Test.
- Define and enforce quality gates for pull requests, builds, and deployments.
- Implement and enhance automation reporting using Extent Reports and custom dashboards.
- Analyze flaky tests, automation failures, and execution trends to improve reliability.
- Publish automation health metrics and quality insights to stakeholders.
- Explore and implement AI-assisted automation approaches such as intelligent locators, self healing, and smart test prioritization.
- Conduct detailed automation code reviews and mentor engineers at scripting and framework levels.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams during requirement and design discussions.
- Act as a quality advocate and automation leader across teams.

What you need to thrive:

- 812 years of experience in software testing with a strong emphasis on automation.
- Proven experience in Java-based automation frameworks.
- Strong hands-on expertise in modern UI automation tools, with Playwright as a key strength.
- Strong experience with TestNG for execution control and parallelization.
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber (BDD frameworks) and Solid experience in REST API automation testing.




- Experience designing and maintaining Hybrid Test Automation Frameworks.
- Expertise in Extent Reports and advanced reporting utilities.
- Hands-on experience with LambdaTest for cloud-based execution.
- Solid experience using GitHub for source control and CI workflows.
- Hands-on exposure to CI/CD DevOps pipelines, especially GitHub Actions.
- Experience using JIRA for defect tracking and quality management.
- Exposure to AI-driven or intelligent automation tools is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and DevOps practices.
- Experience stabilizing flaky tests and improving automation reliability.
- Ability to balance automation coverage, execution speed, and maintainability.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers at script and framework level.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
