Job Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end import operations from PO to final delivery.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers, CHA, customs, freight forwarders, shipping lines and transporters.
- Manage and verify import documents – Invoice, Packing List, BL, COO, COA, MSDS, etc.
- Handle customs clearance, shipment tracking and port-to-plant transportation.
- Ensure compliance with Customs, DGFT, FEMA and GST requirements.
- Monitor container movement and control demurrage/detention costs.
- Coordinate with Finance for LC, advance payments and import-related bank documentation.
- Maintain import trackers, MIS and ERP/SAP records.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Stores and Production for timely availability of imported raw materials.
Requirements
- Graduate in Commerce / Logistics / Supply Chain or related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on Import Operations experience.
- Solid knowledge of Import Documentation & Customs Clearance.
- Experience with CHA, freight forwarders and shipping lines.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, DGFT, FEMA and GST.
- SAP/ERP and Excel knowledge preferred.
- Chemical / Specialty Chemical / Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
