Job Title: Ignition SCADA Engineer / Developer

Experience: 3-10 Years

Location: Chennai

We are seeking an experienced Ignition SCADA Engineer with strong expertise in industrial automation, SCADA development, and MES integration. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and supporting Ignition-based SCADA solutions for manufacturing and process industry clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, configure, and deploy Ignition SCADA applications using Ignition Perspective and Vision modules.
- Develop HMI/SCADA screens, dashboards, trends, alarms, and reporting solutions.
- Configure PLC communication using OPC UA and industrial communication protocols.
- Integrate SCADA systems with MES, Historian, ERP, and enterprise applications.
- Develop and optimize SQL database queries, stored procedures, and reports.
- Configure alarm management, historian, tag structures, and security settings.
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and production support activities.
- Create technical documentation, SOPs, and system architecture diagrams.
- Collaborate with plant operations, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.





Required Skills
- Strong experience in Ignition SCADA (Inductive Automation).
- Hands-on experience with:

- Ignition Perspective

- Ignition Vision

- Ignition Gateway Configuration

- Tag Management
- Alarm & Notification Module

- Historian Module

- Reporting Module
- Robust SQL and database knowledge (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with scripting using Python/Jython within Ignition.
- Understanding of ISA-95, ISA-88, and industrial automation standards.

Preferred Skills
- MES integration experience (AVEVA MES, FactoryTalk, SAP MII, Sepasoft MES).
- Exposure to IIoT, Industry 4.0, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience in Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Chemical, or Oil & Gas industries.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Nice to Have
- Ignition Core Certification.
- Ignition Gold Certification.
- Experience in SCADA migration and modernization projects.
- Exposure to AVEVA/Wonderware, WinCC, FactoryTalk, or iFIX.
