Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with established standards.
- Allocate duties and work assignments to housekeeping personnel based on operational requirements, occupancy levels, and departmental priorities.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and other assigned spaces to ensure required standards of cleanliness and presentation are consistently maintained.
- Monitor the quality and appropriate use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, linen, guest supplies, amenities, and other housekeeping materials.
- Maintain accurate records relating to linen, housekeeping supplies, equipment, inventory, attendance, room inspections, and lost-and-found items.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office, Maintenance/Engineering, and other departments regarding room status, maintenance requirements, guest requests, and operational priorities.
- Identify and report maintenance defects, damages, safety hazards, and other deficiencies promptly to the appropriate department for corrective action.
- Respond professionally to guest requests, concerns, and complaints relating to housekeeping services and ensure timely resolution.
- Provide effective training, guidance, and on-the-job support to housekeeping employees to promote consistent service standards and skilled conduct.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance,
grooming, discipline, productivity, and compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), occupational health and safety requirements, hygiene standards, and applicable regulations.
- Identify operational issues and staff concerns and provide appropriate assistance, guidance, or escalation to management when required.
- Promote teamwork, effective communication, professional conduct, and a positive working environment within the housekeeping department.
- Participate in departmental meetings, inspections, audits, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adequate housekeeping coverage during peak operational periods and respond effectively to changing business and guest requirements.
- Support emergency preparedness and ensure housekeeping staff are familiar with relevant safety and emergency procedures.
