Job Summary:

The High School English Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering effective English lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will develop students’ language proficiency, communication skills, critical thinking, creativity, reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Teach English language, grammar, literature, reading comprehension, writing, and communication skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Use cutting-edge and interactive teaching methodologies, including technology-enabled learning.
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical-thinking skills.
- Conduct regular class tests, assessments, examinations, and remedial sessions.
- Evaluate students' work and provide constructive feedback to improve academic performance.
- Identify learning gaps and provide individual attention and appropriate support.
- Encourage students to participate in debates, elocution, public speaking, creative writing, literary activities, and competitions.
- Maintain accurate academic records, student progress reports,



and other required documentation.
- Manage classroom discipline while maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ academic progress and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues in academic planning, projects, events, and co-curricular activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, workshops, school functions, and other institutional activities.
- Follow school policies, CBSE guidelines, and professional standards.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- CTET/TET qualification may be preferred/required depending on the school and applicable recruitment requirements.
- Prior experience teaching English at the secondary/senior-secondary level is preferred.
