About the role
Yooli is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function of the Group and to own the financial model, forecasts and reporting that underpin its institutional capital raising, including from private equity investors.
The role reports to the Founder and CEO, leads the finance and accounting team, and is based in Hyderabad.
This is an analytical leadership role, not a sales role. The Founder leads the investment case; the Head of Finance owns the numbers behind it. You will build the financial model, explain it clearly to investors, their advisers and the Board, and defend its assumptions under detailed questioning.
Location: Hyderabad. Candidates must be based in Hyderabad or willing to relocate to Hyderabad before joining.
Key responsibilities
Capital raising and investor due diligence
- Build, own and maintain the Group's integrated, driver-based three-statement financial model (profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow), with scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Prepare the financial content of investor materials, including the business plan, information memorandum and management presentation, with the Founder and external advisers.
- Model valuation, capital structure and investor returns: pre-money and post-money valuation, cap table and dilution, ESOP pool, convertible instruments, liquidation preference waterfalls, IRR and MOIC.
- Prepare use of funds and milestone plans that link capital raised to operating targets.
- Establish and manage the financial data room, and coordinate responses to financial, tax and quality of earnings due diligence.
- Analyse the financial implications of term sheets and transaction documents, including liquidation preferences, anti-dilution, reserved matters and information rights, and work with legal and tax advisers through to completion.
- Present the model, historical results and underlying assumptions in investor and due diligence meetings, and answer follow-up questions accurately and promptly.
Financial planning and analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning.
- Maintain cash flow forecasting, including a rolling 13-week cash forecast, and monitor burn rate and runway.
- Define, measure and report KPIs and unit economics, including ARR and MRR, revenue growth, gross and contribution margin, CAC, LTV, CAC payback, churn,
net revenue retention and cohort performance.
- Provide financial analysis to support decisions on pricing, hiring, capital allocation and market expansion.
Reporting, controls and compliance
- Deliver monthly management accounts (MIS) and Board reporting packs to a defined close timetable and, after investment, investor reporting in accordance with agreed information rights.
- Oversee group consolidation across Singapore, India and Australia, including intercompany reconciliations, transfer pricing documentation and foreign currency translation.
- Lead statutory audits in each jurisdiction and keep the Group audit-ready and due diligence-ready at all times.
- Ensure compliance with financial, tax and regulatory obligations, including the Companies Act 2013, FEMA and RBI reporting for foreign investment (including FC-GPR), GST and TDS in India, and corresponding obligations in Singapore and Australia, working with external advisers.
- Design and maintain internal controls, delegations of authority and finance policies appropriate to an institutionally funded company.
- Identify, analyse and report financial risks, including liquidity, foreign exchange, counterparty and investment exposures.
Team leadership and finance operations
- Lead, recruit and develop the finance and accounting team; set standards, allocate responsibilities and review output.
- Set up and oversee finance systems, including Xero and associated reporting and planning tools, and automate recurring reporting.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, company secretaries, banks and other finance-related vendors.
- Work with department heads to align budgets and financial plans with the Group's objectives.
Candidate profile
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline, and Chartered Accountant (ICAI) or equivalent qualification (CPA, CA ANZ or ACCA). An MBA (Finance) or CFA is an advantage.
- 12 or more years of finance experience, including at least 4 years in a senior finance leadership role (Head of Finance, Finance Director, Financial Controller or equivalent), preferably in a growth-stage company.
- Direct, hands-on involvement in at least one completed institutional equity raise (private equity, growth equity or venture capital), including building the financial model and managing financial due diligence.
- Demonstrated record of leading and developing a finance team.
- Experience presenting to Boards and investors.
Technical skills
- Advanced financial modelling: able to build an integrated, driver-based three-statement model from first principles, not only adapt an existing template.
- Valuation methods (DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions and revenue multiples) and cap table mechanics.
- Sound knowledge of Ind AS and IFRS, particularly revenue recognition (Ind AS 115 and IFRS 15) and the capitalisation of software development costs (Ind AS 38 and IAS 38).
- Experience with multi-entity, cross-border groups, including consolidation, transfer pricing and FEMA compliance.
- Advanced Excel; Xero or a comparable accounting system; BI or FP&A; software is an advantage.
Communication and judgement
- Explains complex financial analysis clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to the Board, investors and non-finance colleagues.
- Holds position on figures, models and assumptions under detailed questioning from investors, their advisers and auditors, and concedes a point only where the evidence warrants it.
- Rigorous and evidence-led; identifies weak assumptions and data gaps before investors do.
- Sales or business development experience is not required. The role calls for analytical depth and credibility, not selling.
Advantageous
- Experience in SaaS, healthcare technology or other technology businesses.
- Exposure to Singapore or Australian financial reporting and tax.
- Background in transaction services, investment banking or private equity, followed by operating finance experience.
- Experience of post-investment investor reporting and preparation for subsequent funding rounds.
Location and travel
- Based in Hyderabad, or willing to relocate to Hyderabad before joining.
- Occasional travel to Singapore and Australia.
