Role Overview The GitLab Consultant will be responsible for implementing and managing GitLab solutions, CI/CD pipelines, source-code management, DevSecOps practices, runner infrastructure, and deployment automation.

The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runner, DevOps automation, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and infrastructure as code.

Key Responsibilities

- GitLab Administration & Configuration
- Install, configure, and administer GitLab environments, including GitLab Self-Managed.
- Manage GitLab projects, groups, repositories, users, permissions, and access controls.
- Configure branch protection, merge request policies, approvals, and repository standards.
- Manage GitLab Runner infrastructure and runner registration.
- Configure integrations with external tools and services.
- Monitor GitLab performance, availability, storage, and system health.
- Handle GitLab upgrades, migrations, backups, and recovery procedures.
- CI/CD & DevOps
- Design, implement, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and maintain .gitlab-ci.yml configurations.




- Implement automated build, test, security scanning, and deployment workflows.
- Configure self-hosted and shared GitLab Runners.
- Improve pipeline performance, reliability, and execution time.
- Implement reusable CI/CD templates and pipeline standards.
- Integrate GitLab with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and deployment environments.

DevSecOps Implement GitLab security capabilities such as:

SAST

DAST

Dependency Scanning

Container Scanning

Secret Detection

Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines.

Establish secure repository and deployment practices.

Assist teams in identifying and resolving security and compliance issues.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Work with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Integrate GitLab CI/CD with cloud-based infrastructure.

Work with Docker and Kubernetes-based deployment environments.

Implement infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

Configure deployment environments, environments variables, secrets, and protected resources.
