About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, versatile professional to join the Founder's Office at Propel (upGrad). This is a high-ownership role sitting at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations — working directly with leadership on investment decisions, financial planning, and building the operating backbone of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Investment & Financial Analysis

- Build and maintain detailed financial models (revenue, cost, unit economics, cash flow, scenario/sensitivity analysis)
- Evaluate investment opportunities, partnerships, or acquisition targets, including return and risk analysis
- Lead financial due diligence for potential deals, partnerships, or fundraising — data room reviews, red-flag identification, and synthesis of findings for leadership

Strategic & Operational Planning

- Design and refine operating models across business functions to support scale and efficiency
- Support annual/quarterly budgeting cycles — planning, tracking, variance analysis, and reforecasting
- Build frameworks for future operations as the business scales — process design, org structuring inputs,



and systems planning

Stakeholder Management

- Act as a key liaison between the founder's office and internal teams (finance, business, product, ops) and external stakeholders (investors, advisors, partners)
- Prepare board decks, investor updates, and leadership reviews with transparent, data-backed narratives
- Drive follow-ups and ensure alignment across cross-functional initiatives

Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity/VC, consulting, corporate finance, or a startup founder's office/strategy role
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (Excel/Google Sheets proficiency essential)
- Prior exposure to financial due diligence processes
- Excellent stakeholder communication — comfortable presenting to senior leadership
- Structured problem-solver who can operate with ambiguity and move fast
- MBA or CA/CFA preferred but not mandatory; strong analytical pedigree valued over pedigree of degree alone
