Responsibilities include:

- Customer interaction: Understand requirements and translate business problems into technical solutions.

- Hands-on coding: Build/customize applications, APIs, integrations, automation, or AI solutions.

- Deployment: Take solutions from POC/prototype into production.

- Integration: Connect the company's product with the customer's databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, CRM/ERP, etc.

- Troubleshooting: Debug production issues and resolve technical problems in the customer's environment.

- Product feedback: Take learnings from customers back to the core engineering/product teams.

- End-to-end ownership: Often owns the journey from problem discovery through implementation and adoption.

Technical

- Strong coding, commonly Python, Java, SQL, etc.





- APIs and system integrations

- Cloud: Azure / AWS / GCP

- Backend or full-stack development

- Databases and data pipelines

- System design/debugging
- For AI FDE roles: LLMs, RAG, AI/ML deployment, MLOps, vector databases can be particularly relevant

Non-technical

- Excellent customer/stakeholder communication

- Ability to understand business problems

- Consulting/problem-solving mindset

- Comfortable with ambiguity

- Solid ownership
