Design Engineer To execute engineering design projects in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), customer requirements, and organizational standards. The role involves leading design activities, mentoring team members, ensuring quality deliverables, and supporting successful project execution within agreed timelines while adhering to processes, guidelines, and quality standards.

1. Design & Engineering Responsibilities

- Review and validate project inputs, customer specifications, and technical requirements before design execution.
- Participate in customer kick-off meetings to finalize scope, deliverables, timelines, and identify project risks.
- Develop concepts and detailed designs for automation systems, fixtures, SPMs, material handling equipment, and industrial tooling.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation in accordance with engineering standards.
- Apply GD&T;, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
- Design tooling solutions for bolt tightening, riveting, robotic dispensing, and fixture/handling applications.
- Conduct design reviews, resolve technical issues, and support manufacturing and assembly teams during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with organization and customer-specific standards while delivering quality outputs within committed timelines.

2. Mandatory Experience

Minimum 5 years of design experience in: Automation systems, Fixtures, and tooling, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Material handling equipment

1. Technical Competencies

- Solid knowledge of machine design principles.




- Sound understanding of GD&T; and engineering standards.
- Proficiency in engineering design calculations and component sizing.
- Hands-on experience in machine conceptualization and detailed design.
- Experience in the design of: Tightening solutions, Fixtures, SPMs, Sheet metal structures, Welded structures, Material handling equipment, Pneumatic systems, Packaging machines, Checking fixtures
- Knowledge of Gantries, Manual and powered slides, Lift mechanisms, Motor and gearbox selection, Linear motion systems

4. Work Planning, Leadership & Mentoring

- Allocate and prioritize design work based on project complexity, criticality, and resource availability.
- Monitor adherence to SOPs, engineering standards, and project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Design Engineers.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Identify project risks and escalate technical or execution challenges to Project Leaders proactively.




- Drive knowledge sharing and support technical competency development within the team.
- Capture, document, and share lessons learned and best practices from completed projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design quality, productivity, and project execution efficiency.

5. Project Coordination, Reporting & Problem Resolution

- Resolve technical queries from customers and internal design engineers in a timely manner.
- Provide effective solutions to shop-floor assembly and manufacturing issues.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to address design, manufacturing, and execution challenges.
- Track project progress and communicate risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
- Prepare and share weekly project status reports with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical concerns to support smooth project execution and delivery.

6. Quality Check & Project Closure

- Perform thorough quality reviews of self-generated and team-generated design outputs.
- Ensure adherence to the principle of "Right First Time" engineering delivery.
- Implement the Four-Eye Principle through independent design verification and approval processes.
- Ensure all deliverables meet customer requirements, quality standards, and internal procedures.
- Complete project closure activities including Project documentation, Design records, Closure reports, ISO documentation requirements
- Gather customer feedback and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
