Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Embedded Software Engineers to support the development, modification, integration, testing, and certification of Flight Data Recorder (FDR) software for airborne applications. The engineer will work closely with Customers project teams to modify existing software, develop new software components, integrate software with avionics hardware, support IV&V; activities, and assist during certification and flight testing phases

Role & responsibilities

Airborne Software Development

- Study and understand existing FDR software architecture and source code.
- Modify and develop embedded software classes/modules as per Software Requirement Documents (SRD).
- Develop software for CPU, Analog, Communication, and Discrete modules.
- Implement data acquisition, processing, formatting, storage, and communication functionality.
- Develop software for ARINC-717 data framing and transmission.
- Implement interfaces with ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553B, Ethernet, RS232, USB, and other avionics interfaces.
- Support software upload, maintenance, configuration, and diagnostic modes.
- Implement Built-In Test (PBIT, CBIT, IBIT) functions and hardware health monitoring.

Ground Replay Equipment (GRE) Software

- Modify and enhance Windows-based Ground Replay Equipment software.
- Develop features for flight data download, playback, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Implement graphical and tabular display of engineering, raw, and electrical parameters.
- Support data conversion and file format mapping utilities.
- Develop live reporting and monitoring functionality using Ethernet communication.

Test Equipment Software Development

- Modify and enhance test equipment applications.
- Develop utilities for software configuration, validation, diagnostics, and verification.
- Upgrade software features as per project requirements.

Testing & Integration

- Perform unit, integration, static, and agile testing.
- Execute testing using LDRA and other approved tools.
- Conduct class-level testing using test stubs.




- Integrate software with target hardware platforms.
- Support environmental testing, hardware-software integration testing, and system validation.
- Resolve observations raised by Client, IV&V; teams, and certification agencies.

Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare and update software lifecycle documentation.
- Follow DO-178C development processes.
- Ensure compliance with MISRA C++ standards.
- Support certification activities and audit reviews.
- Maintain configuration management and development records.

Preferred Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Avionics, Aerospace, or related field.
- Experience in safety-critical software development.
- Prior experience with avionics, flight recorders, mission computers, airborne systems, or defence electronics.
- Exposure to certification activities involving CEMILAC / RCMA or equivalent agencies.
- Knowledge of software verification and validation processes.
