Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced E&I; Draftsman to join our E&I; Engineering team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in AutoCAD-based electrical and instrumentation drafting, preparation of layouts, cable tray routing, instrument hook-up drawings and engineering documentation.

Candidates from Boiler, Thermal Power, Power Plant, EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Process Plant and Industrial Engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and modify E&I; drawings and layouts using AutoCAD.
- Develop equipment location layouts, cable tray layouts, conduit layouts, earthing layouts and illumination layouts.
- Prepare control room and switchgear room layouts.
- Prepare instrument erection hook-up drawings and instrument installation details.
- Plan cable tray, conduit and instrument air-line routing considering piping, mechanical and structural interfaces.
- Prepare Junction Box (JB) schedules and erection BOMs for cables, trays, supports, hardware and other E&I; materials.
- Prepare/review specifications and datasheets for cables, cable glands, cable lugs, JBs, impulse lines, instrument air lines and other erection materials.
- Prepare and update logic diagrams, control schemes, P&I;/P&ID; drawings, wiring drawings and cable termination details.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Piping and other disciplines to resolve design interfaces.
- Incorporate engineering/client comments and maintain drawing revisions.




- Support preparation of MTO/BOQ and engineering documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable standards and quality requirements.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of BricsCAD will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of electrical and instrumentation drawings and symbols.
- Knowledge of cable trays, cables, cable glands, lugs, JBs, conduits and supports.
- Basic understanding of field instruments including pressure, temperature, flow, level and analytical instruments.
- Knowledge of control valves, relays, motor starters, VFDs, soft starters, motors and associated electrical equipment.
- Understanding of wiring drawings, logic diagrams, control schemes and ISA symbols.
- Valuable understanding of P&IDs; and multidisciplinary drawing interfaces.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office/Excel.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently on engineering deliverables.

Preferred Industry Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following industries will be preferred:
- Boiler / Thermal Power / Power Plant
- WHRB / AFBC / Waste-to-Energy / Biomass
- EPC / Engineering Consultancy
- Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical
- Chemical / Process Industries
- Cement / Steel / Mining
- Sugar / Distillery / Ethanol
- Other industrial E&I; engineering projects

Additional Advantage
- Experience in boiler processes and P&IDs;.
- Experience in field instrumentation engineering up to field JBs.
- Experience preparing instrument index, I/O lists, instrument datasheets, cable schedules and instrument specifications.
- Exposure to PLC/DCS architecture and control schemes.
- Understanding of boiler-related logics such as soot blower and rapping systems will be an added advantage.
