Core Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Governance

- Establish QMS: Develop, implement, and update the Quality Management System (QMS) specifically for Solar including Module, Wind, and BESS packages.

- Standardization: Create Field Quality Plans (FQP), Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

- Audit Management: Lead internal and external quality audits at project sites and vendor manufacturing facilities.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations comply with international standards (IEC, IEEE, CEA, local grid codes).

Engineering & Procurement Quality

- Vendor Qualification: Evaluate and approve Technical Capability Assessments for suppliers of critical electrical equipment (Inverters, Transformers, Switchgears, Modules, WTGs, and BESS enclosures).

- Pre-dispatch Inspection: Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and review Material Dispatch Clearance Certificates (MDCC).

- Design Review: Collaborate with the engineering team to review electrical drawings for quality, safety, and constructability.

Site Execution & Commissioning Quality

- Site Inspections: Monitor Field Acceptance Tests (SAT)

- Punch List Management: Track and resolve non-conformity reports (NCR) and punch points prior to plant commissioning.

- Handover Assurance: Manage the seamless quality handover of electrical assets from the EPC team to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) team.

Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement

- Team Management:



Lead and mentor a team of regional and site-level Electrical Quality Managers and Engineers.

- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct RCAs for chronic or major electrical failures and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

- Training: Organize regular quality awareness and technical training sessions for site teams and sub-contractors.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Zero critical electrical failures during plant commissioning and early operations.

- 100% on-time closure of site Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs).

- Reduction in rework costs and material wastage across projects.

- Successful technical compliance and timely receipt of regulatory charging permissions.

Education

- Degree: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering.

- Certification: Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor (preferred).

Six Sigma

Green/Black belt is an added advantage.

Experience

- Total Experience: 12 to 16 years of experience in electrical construction and quality control.

- Sector Experience: Minimum 4–6 years leading the quality function in large-scale Solar (PV), Wind, or BESS projects.

- Technical Depth: Added advantage of hands-on experience with Electrical System Inspection, Testing & Commissioning including EHV/HV substations transmission lines systems.

Soft Skills

- Robust leadership, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.

- Analytical and technical report writing abilities.
