Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Database Administrator with strong production experience in Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB. The candidate should have experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup & recovery, high availability, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

The candidate will work closely with application and development teams in a regulated pharmaceutical software environment.

Key Responsibilities

SQL Server

- Install, configure and maintain SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Manage databases, tables, views, indexes and stored procedures.
- Perform SQL query optimization and execution-plan analysis.
- Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance activities.
- Implement full, differential and transaction-log backups.
- Manage Always On, Log Shipping and Mirroring.
- Handle database security, logins, roles, permissions and auditing.
- Monitor performance using DMVs, Profiler and Extended Events.
- Troubleshoot database-related application issues.
- Work with Entity Framework and application-level SQL Server integration.

MongoDB

- Install, configure and maintain MongoDB production environments.
- Manage collections, documents and BSON data structures.




- Configure and maintain Replica Sets and Sharded Clusters.
- Work with the WiredTiger storage engine.
- Develop and optimize MongoDB aggregation pipelines.
- Create and optimize indexes using explain() and MongoDB Profiler.
- Manage RBAC, TLS and audit logging.
- Perform backup and recovery using mongodump/mongorestore, mongomirror and snapshots.
- Monitor and troubleshoot MongoDB performance.
- Work with mongosh and administrative scripting using JavaScript/Python/PowerShell.
- Support .NET applications using MongoDB drivers.

Database Architecture & Integration

- Support hybrid SQL Server + MongoDB environments.
- Assist with database migration between relational and document-based systems.
- Understand appropriate use cases for SQL Server versus MongoDB.
- Work with MinIO, Redis and Hangfire integrations where applicable.
- Collaborate with development teams on database design and query patterns.

Monitoring & Compliance

- Set up database monitoring and alerting.
- Work with Grafana, Seq or similar observability tools.
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks and change records.
- Participate in DR drills and ensure RTO/RPO requirements are met.
- Follow secure database configuration, access control and audit requirements.
- Knowledge of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11 or GAMP 5 is an advantage.
