DATA ANLYTICS - CLAIMS - POWER BI - Reporting - DAX

- Role & Level: Senior Consultant Claims Reporting & Insights | Band C1 (8–11 years experience) | Location: Gurgaon.
- Core Triad (Must-Haves): Claims Domain Depth + End-to-End Power BI Mastery + Complex Data Modelling.
- Domain Focus: Deep P&C; / General Insurance background—solid grasp of the claims lifecycle, loss development, claims reserving, operational KPIs, and performance analytics.
- Technical Breadth: Hands-on Power BI across the entire lifecycle—advanced DAX authoring, semantic data modelling, report wireframing, dashboard design, Power BI Service administration, query tuning, and performance optimization across 40+ live production reports.
- Stakeholder & Strategic Ownership: Independent ownership of reporting transformation initiatives—eliciting and translating senior Claims stakeholder requirements, challenging assumptions, defining the target-state insights capability roadmap, and converting complex data into executive insight narratives and storytelling.

Role & Responsibilities: Independently elicit and document requirements from senior Claims business stakeholders, translating complex business needs into precise, actionable reporting specifications.

Define and own a target-state insights capability roadmap identifying missing analytics, prioritising enhancements with the business, and mapping the path from current state to an optimal reporting solution.

Deliver hands-on Power BI development across the full lifecycle, from wireframing and rapid prototyping through to finalised, production-grade report builds and enhancements across an established suite of 40+ live reports.

Act as the senior reporting lead and single credible partner for the Claims team,



setting direction, managing expectations, and proactively driving delivery forward.

Conduct structured business analysis sessions to challenge assumptions, ask probing questions, and distinguish true business needs from surface-level requests.

Develop and maintain high-quality reporting standards, embedding data governance principles and output trustworthiness across all claims reporting deliverables.

Translate analytical output into clear insight narratives and business presentations that enable the Claims function to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Partner with technical analysts and BI developers to optimise workload distribution leading requirements and stakeholder engagement while enabling hands-on team members to focus on build delivery.

Candidate Profile:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (Required).

8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or claims reporting, with a demonstrated track record of leading reporting improvements end-to-end (Required).

Deep insurance and claims domain knowledge, including familiarity with claims lifecycle, loss development, reserving, and operational claims metrics (Required).

Hands-on Power BI expertise across the full delivery lifecycle DAX authoring, data modelling, wireframing,



and production-grade report development and deployment (Required).

Proven ability to independently elicit requirements from senior business stakeholders, shape solutions, and translate complex needs into high-quality reporting designs (Required).

Strong data modelling, analytics design, and data governance skills, with a track record of ensuring reporting outputs are accurate, trustworthy, and fit for business decision-making (Required).

Experience defining and owning BI roadmaps or insight capability strategies in a consulting or senior individual contributor capacity (Strongly preferred).

Demonstrated ability to work independently, challenge the business constructively, and set direction without close supervision in a high-visibility environment (Required).

Outstanding senior stakeholder engagement and communication skills — capable of building rapport with Claims leaders and storytelling with data in a way the business will act on (Required).

Experience supporting or leading a mature Power BI environment with multiple reports in active production use across a business function (Preferred).

Familiarity with data quality frameworks, reporting governance standards, and best-practice BI development processes (Preferred).

Strong project ownership and prioritisation skills — able to manage a programme roadmap alongside ongoing ad hoc requests with minimal oversight (Required).

Prior experience in a consulting, managed services, or analytics delivery environment is advantageous (Preferred).
