About The Role HCLSoftware is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our Office of the CISO team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining security controls that safeguard our enterprise and cloud environments.

This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in a hands-on, builder role, focusing on configuration, coding, and integration rather than documentation. You will take ownership of security platforms from initial design and rollout through ongoing tuning, automation, and operational health management. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Security Operations Center (SOC), Vulnerability Management, IT, and cloud engineering teams to ensure our security environment is robust, well-instrumented, and continuously improving.

The role demands a proactive approach to security control engineering, cloud and infrastructure security, automation, and operational support. You will be instrumental in implementing guardrails across multiple cloud providers, integrating security tooling with existing SIEM and SOAR platforms, and developing automated solutions to streamline security operations. Additionally, you will contribute to AI security initiatives, ensuring our AI/LLM systems are protected against emerging threats.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or a closely related field,



with demonstrated ownership of enterprise security platforms. Strong expertise in cloud security across major providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential, including experience with native security services and policy enforcement.

Practical scripting skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Go, along with a solid understanding of vendor APIs, are required for automation and integration tasks.

A deep understanding of operating system internals, networking, and identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth is necessary to troubleshoot and design secure solutions. Experience with infrastructure as code and version-controlled workflows is also important. Candidates should have a proven track record of troubleshooting complex environments and implementing scalable security controls.

Preferred qualifications include experience supporting large-scale telemetry pipelines, container and Kubernetes security, detection engineering, and automation with SOAR platforms. Certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP security certifications, CISSP, or equivalents are valued but not mandatory.

Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining core security platforms, including endpoint detection and response (EDR), email security, secure service edge, cloud security posture management, and identity controls. You will design control rollouts that address coverage gaps, handle exceptions, optimize performance, and facilitate rollback procedures.

Integrating security tools with SIEM and SOAR systems to ensure meaningful telemetry and response capabilities is a key aspect of your work.

You will oversee control health monitoring, including agent coverage, policy compliance, enforcement success, and silent failure detection. Implementing and maintaining security guardrails across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including policy enforcement and remediation workflows, will be central to your responsibilities.



Building secure baseline configurations for operating systems, containers, and cloud services aligned with recognized benchmarks such as CIS will be part of your role.

Additionally, you will engineer secrets management, key lifecycle, and certificate controls in collaboration with platform teams. Supporting secure network design, including segmentation, egress controls, and remote access, will also fall under your purview.

Automation will be a significant focus, with responsibilities including scripting, API integration, and infrastructure as code to automate repetitive security tasks, ensuring configurations are version-controlled, peer-reviewed, tested, and reproducible. You will develop integrations between security, IT, and engineering systems to facilitate seamless data flow.

Operational support includes responding to security incidents with rapid control changes, containment measures, and forensic data collection. Partnering with Vulnerability Management to engineer scalable remediation processes, participating in on-call rotations for security platform issues, and contributing to audit and customer assurance activities will also be part of your duties.

For AI security engineering, you will implement guardrails for internal AI/LLM systems, including protections against prompt injection, model poisoning, and data exfiltration. Maintaining secure AI infrastructure, developing automation workflows leveraging AI/ML for security operations, and monitoring AI tool usage for compliance will be critical tasks. Staying updated on emerging AI threats and adapting security controls accordingly will ensure the resilience of our AI systems.
