Patient Care

- Evaluate and diagnose patients with cardiovascular diseases.

- Provide consultation for OPD, IPD, ICU, and emergency patients.

- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and investigations.

- Provide pre- and post-procedure counselling to patients and their families.

- Manage patients with acute coronary syndromes and other cardiac emergencies.

Interventional

Procedures

- Perform diagnostic coronary angiography.

- Perform percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including coronary angioplasty and stenting.

- Manage complex coronary interventions as per individual expertise and hospital facilities.

- Perform temporary pacing and other catheter-based procedures within the scope of practice.

- Participate in emergency primary PCI services where applicable.

- Ensure appropriate pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure monitoring.

Clinical

Management

- Interpret ECG, echocardiography, stress testing, cardiac biomarkers, and other relevant investigations.

- Manage patients with ischemic heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.

- Coordinate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthetists, emergency physicians, and other specialists when required.

- Provide appropriate referrals for surgical or advanced cardiac interventions.

Emergency & Critical Care

- Participate in management of cardiac emergencies and acute coronary syndromes.

- Provide timely intervention in STEMI/emergency cases as per hospital protocols.

- Support the cardiac ICU/CCU team in managing critically ill cardiac patients.

- Participate in on-call and emergency services as per hospital requirements.

5. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and procedure records.

- Ensure informed consent and appropriate documentation before invasive procedures.

- Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.

- Comply with applicable medical regulations and hospital policies.

- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and accreditation initiatives such as NABH.

6. Team & Hospital Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively with the cardiology team and other departments.

- Guide and support junior doctors and medical staff.

- Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, CME programs, and academic activities.

- Contribute to development and improvement of cardiac-care protocols and services.

- Support hospital initiatives for improving patient outcomes and service quality.
