Key Responsibilities & Duties

Equipment Installation & Commissioning

- Oversee the protected delivery, installation, and initial testing of new medical devices and diagnostic machinery (e.g., ICU ventilators, patient monitors, infusion pumps, electrosurgical units, and endoscopy systems).
- Collaborate with clinical department heads to ensure proper site readiness, electrical integration, and user training.

Maintenance & Repair (Preventive & Corrective)

- Conduct regular preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend device lifespan.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning medical equipment promptly, coordinating with external Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or service vendors for complex component failures.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance





- Perform electrical safety checks and biomedical calibrations to ensure equipment meets international and national healthcare standards (e.g., NABH, ISO, BIS).
- Maintain comprehensive asset logs, repair history records, and service logs for all hospital medical technology.

Vendor & Inventory Management

- Monitor spare parts inventory, tools, and test equipment, raising purchase requisitions as needed.
- Supervise third-party service contracts (AMCs/CMCs) and evaluate vendor performance and cost-effectiveness.

User Training & Technical Support

- Provide ongoing operational and safety training to doctors, nurses, and technicians on proper device handling to prevent user-induced errors or damage.
- Act as the technical consultant for upgrading outdated medical technology or evaluating new equipment purchases.
