Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer / Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, ETL/data pipelines, and AWS.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing REST APIs, backend services, data processing pipelines, database integrations, and data migration solutions. The role also involves deploying and operating data-processing services on AWS and ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript.
- Design and implement ETL/data processing pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Develop data import/export solutions for Excel and CSV files.
- Work extensively with PostgreSQL, including SQL queries, database design, query optimization, and data migration.
- Develop and maintain database schema migrations using Drizzle ORM / Drizzle Kit.
- Build and maintain data-processing services using Node.js Streams, exceljs, csv-parse, or similar technologies.
- Integrate and operate AWS services such as Lambda, S3, ECS, and ECR.
- Containerize backend and batch/ETL workloads using Docker and deploy them on AWS ECS.
- Manage application access, permissions, and credentials using AWS IAM and Secrets Manager.
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using Jest,



including database test setups for data pipelines.
- Troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, perform incident analysis, and support performance optimization.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, reliability, and quality across data-processing workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver scalable backend/data solutions.
- Maintain clear technical documentation for APIs, data flows, interfaces, and processes.

Mandatory Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript / JavaScript
- Strong experience with Node.js and Express.js
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL
- Experience with ETL / Data Pipeline development
- Experience with data transformation and processing of Excel / CSV files
- Experience with AWS Lambda, S3, ECS, and ECR
- Experience with Docker and containerization
- Experience with database schema migrations
- Experience with Jest and integration testing
- Good understanding of REST APIs and backend service development
- Understanding of AWS IAM and Secrets Manager

Good to Have

- Experience with Python, particularly for AWS Lambda
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch and log analysis
- Basic understanding of AWS VPC and networking
- Experience with GitHub Actions / CI-CD
