Azure Senior cloud engineer

- Cloud Experience:

8+ years of cloud engineering experience, with significant Azure depth

.

- Windows Fleet Mastery:

3+ years operating Windows Server environments at production scale.

- Hybrid Identity:

Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and

Entra ID within a Windows-centric ecosystem.

- Hybrid Networking:

Strong cloud/hybrid networking depth, including firewall change management, network segmentation, cross-tenant routing, IPsec/SSL VPNs, NSGs, and subnet design.

- Resilience Tracking:

Proven experience operating to defined RPO and RTO targets, including DR runbook maintenance and active failover testing.

- Infrastructure as Code:

Strong IaC experience.

Terraform is preferred

, with openness to Azure-native equivalents like Bicep or ARM templates.

- Cooperative Mindset:

- Demonstrated ability to modernize engineering practices with security counterparts, partnering on the final shape of the practice rather than dictating it.

- Total comfort operating where a security peer reviews and signs off on infrastructure decisions, defining outcomes jointly.

- Comfort cross-training across both infrastructure and security disciplines, balancing primary and secondary coverage.





? Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

- Enterprise AI:

Familiarity with

Microsoft 365 Copilot or other enterprise AI rollouts.

- Compliance Frameworks:

Exposure to

NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO/IEC 27001

(especially as applied to cloud and GPO deployments) alongside

SOC 2

control operations and evidence collection.

- Privacy & Industry Regulations:

Working knowledge of California privacy regulations (

CCPA / CPRA

).

HIPAA exposure is a plus.

- Secondary Tooling & Ecosystems:

- Cloud/SaaS:

Multi-cloud exposure to

Google Workspace

, Google Cloud Storage, AWS, or Wasabi object storage.

- Networking/Edge:

Cloudflare familiarity (edge, DNS, security) and Next-Gen firewalls (

Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet FortiGate

).

- Database/Web:

SQL Server DBA exposure for day-to-day database operations and

IIS management experience.

- Backup:

Enterprise platforms like

Veeam, Axcient, or Azure Backup
